Alice Deejay are a Dutch Eurodance-Vocal trance project founded and produced by Wessel van Diepen, Dennis van den Driesschen, Sebastiaan Molijn and Eelke Kalberg, fronted by singer Judith Anna Pronk. They are best known for their 1998 single "Better Off Alone", which was a worldwide success, selling over one million albums and 5 million singles worldwide.

"Gettin' Jiggy wit It" is a song by American rapper and actor Will Smith, released as the third single from his debut solo album, Big Willie Style (1997). The verse is based around a sample of "He's the Greatest Dancer" by Sister Sledge, and the chorus is sampled from "Sang and Dance" by the Bar-Kays. Released in early 1998, the song was Smith's second hit produced by Poke & Tone and L.E.S., who replaced his long-time partner Jazzy Jeff, though the record-scratching techniques of Jazzy Jeff can be heard in the song.

Jürgen Rijkers, better known by his stage name DJ Jurgen, is a Dutch DJ, remixer and producer. He was the co-creator of Alice Deejay, and their biggest hit, "Better Off Alone", was credited to "DJ Jurgen presents Alice Deejay". As a solo artist, he also had an international hit with “Higher and Higher”, which peaked at number 34 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart in 2000. Currently, Jurgen hosts the morning show on Wild FM.

Who Needs Guitars Anyway? is the debut studio album by Alice Deejay, released on 28 March 2000. It includes the hit singles "Back in My Life", "Better Off Alone", "Will I Ever", "The Lonely One" and "Celebrate Our Love". The songs "The Lonely One", "Will I Ever" and "Celebrate Our Love" are different versions from the single versions and video versions that were released.

Dash Berlin is a Dutch electronic music group started in 2007 in The Hague by Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn. Dash Berlin were voted the seventh most popular DJs in the world according to DJ Mag in 2012; Kalberg and Molijn were record producers. Kalberg and Molijn left the group in 2019 and returned in 2021 after winning a legal dispute against Jeffrey Sutorius over the "Dash Berlin" trademark. Since 2022 Ryan Fieret is the frontman of the group.

The song is Barn's debut single and is a part of a series of songs by Walker that includes his 2016 single "Alone" and his 2019 collaborative single "Alone, Pt. II" with Ava Max. The song heavily samples the 1999 single "Better Off Alone" written by Dash Berlin founding members Eelke Kalberg and Sebastiaan Molijn as part of Eurodance project Alice Deejay.
