Cosmopolitan on the Park, [3] or simply the Cosmopolitan, [4] is a high-rise condominium building in Portland, Oregon's Pearl District, in the United States. Construction began in 2014 and was completed in 2016. It is the tallest building in the Pearl District and the tallest residential tower in Portland. [4] Its glass curtain exterior wall system was designed by Benson Industries, of Portland, which designed and manufactured a similar exterior for One World Trade Center, in New York City. [4]
The Pearl District is an area of Portland, Oregon, formerly occupied by warehouses, light industry and railroad classification yards and now noted for its art galleries, upscale businesses and residences. The area has been undergoing significant urban renewal since the mid-1980s when it was reclassified as mixed use from industrial, including the arrival of artists, the removal of a viaduct and construction of the Portland Streetcar. It now consists of industrial building conversion to offices, high-rise condominiums and warehouse-to-loft conversions.

The Hallock–McMillan Building, also known as the Hallock and McMillan Building, is the first and oldest commercial brick building in Portland, Oregon, located downtown at 237 SW Naito Parkway. The Broadway Corridor twin towers complex was a proposed mixed-use skyscraper complex in the Pearl District of Portland, Oregon. Multi-disciplinary architecture firm William Kaven Architecture proposed the complex as a potential part of the Broadway Corridor redevelopment project. The twin-towered skyscrapers would reach 970 feet (300 m) in height and would have become the tallest building in Oregon, the tallest twin towers in the Western Hemisphere and fifth-tallest in the world. A significant obstacle to the proposal was that current zoning at the site limits building heights to 400 feet (120 m). The proposal was not among the list of three finalists chosen by Prosper Portland in March 2018.
