The seventeenth season of the Australian Dancing with the Stars debuted on 9 February 2020. [1] [2] [3] Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller returned as hosts, while Sharna Burgess, Craig Revel Horwood, and Tristan MacManus returned to the judging panel. [4]

Contents

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grand Final was broadcast on 29 March 2020, one week earlier than planned. [5] Comedian Celia Pacquola and Jarryd Byrne were announced as the winners, while podcaster Christian Wilkins and Lily Cornish finished in second place, actress Claudia Karvan and Aric Yegudkin finished in third, and comedian Ed Kavalee and Jorja Freeman finished in fourth.

Couples

This season featured ten celebrity contestants. [1] The full cast was announced on 14 January 2020. [1] [6] Professionals Marco De Angelis, Jeremy Garner, Joshua Keeffe, and Siobhan Power did not return; they were replaced by Julian Caillon, Shae Mountain, and Violeta Mugica.

The couples performed one unlearned dance and also had to perform a team-up dance with another couple and one of the three judges. The judges choreographed and designed their team's dance and performed with them on the night, while the two non-performing judges and guest judge, former contestant Courtney Act, scored their routine.

For the first time in the history of the show, the dancers performed without a live audience.

Week 8: Grand Finale

In the first round, the contestants performed a redemption dance. In the second round, the contestants performed a fusion dance of two dance styles dedicated to a meaningful person or event in their life.

For the third time, the dancers performed without a live audience. Craig Revel Horwood was not present in the studio, however judged the show live from his home in London.

Strictly Come Dancing returned for its tenth series and began with the launch show on 15 September 2012. The live shows began on 5 October. Sharna May Burgess is an Australian ballroom dancer who is best known for being a professional partner and troupe member on the ABC series Dancing with the Stars. She is the winner of season 27 of American television show Dancing with the Stars with her celebrity partner Bobby Bones, where she has also been a runner-up in several other seasons. She has also been a judge on the Australian version of the show since 2019, along with Craig Revel Horwood and Tristan MacManus.

Strictly Come Dancing returned for its eleventh series beginning with a launch show on 7 September 2013, and the live shows beginning on 27 and 28 September 2013. Sir Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly returned to co-present the main show on BBC One, with Claudia Winkleman presenting the results show alongside Daly. Season twenty-six of Dancing with the Stars, titled Dancing with the Stars: Athletes, premiered on April 30, 2018, on the ABC network. The four-week season, the shortest ever, featured a cast of current and former athletes.

Strictly Come Dancing returned for its sixteenth series with a launch show on 8 September 2018 on BBC One, and the first live show on 22 September. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman returned as hosts, while Zoe Ball returned to host Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on BBC Two. Shirley Ballas, Darcey Bussell, Craig Revel Horwood, and Bruno Tonioli returned as judges. On 20 October, actor Alfonso Ribeiro stood in as a guest judge to cover for Tonioli.

The sixteenth season of the Australian Dancing with the Stars premiered on 18 February 2019. Due to Network 10 having obtained the rights for the series, an overhaul to the cast and crew occurred.
