The seventeenth season of the Australian Dancing with the Stars debuted on 9 February 2020. [1] [2] [3] Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller returned as hosts, while Sharna Burgess, Craig Revel Horwood, and Tristan MacManus returned to the judging panel. [4]
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Grand Final was broadcast on 29 March 2020, one week earlier than planned. [5] Comedian Celia Pacquola and Jarryd Byrne were announced as the winners, while podcaster Christian Wilkins and Lily Cornish finished in second place, actress Claudia Karvan and Aric Yegudkin finished in third, and comedian Ed Kavalee and Jorja Freeman finished in fourth.
This season featured ten celebrity contestants. [1] The full cast was announced on 14 January 2020. [1] [6] Professionals Marco De Angelis, Jeremy Garner, Joshua Keeffe, and Siobhan Power did not return; they were replaced by Julian Caillon, Shae Mountain, and Violeta Mugica.

The couples performed one unlearned dance and also had to perform a team-up dance with another couple and one of the three judges. The judges choreographed and designed their team's dance and performed with them on the night, while the two non-performing judges and guest judge, former contestant Courtney Act, scored their routine.

Dancing with the Stars is an Australian light entertainment reality show which originally aired on the Seven Network from 2004 to 2015 and on Network 10 from 2019 to 2020. When it was on the Seven Network, it was broadcast live from the HSV-7 studios in Melbourne; on Network 10 it aired live from Fox Studios Australia in Sydney and Docklands Studios in Melbourne.

Tristan MacManus is an Irish dancer and television presenter. He is best known for his professional appearances on Dancing with the Stars, Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars Australia. In 2017, he went on tour with Mrs Brown's Boys for the Good Mourning Mrs Brown Live 2017 playing Elder Peach.

Sharna May Burgess is an Australian ballroom dancer who is best known for being a professional partner and troupe member on the ABC series Dancing with the Stars. She is the winner of season 27 of American television show Dancing with the Stars with her celebrity partner Bobby Bones, where she has also been a runner-up in several other seasons. She has also been a judge on the Australian version of the show since 2019, along with Craig Revel Horwood and Tristan MacManus.

The fifteenth season of the Australian Dancing with the Stars premiered on the Seven Network on 19 July 2015. It was the only season to be hosted by Shane Bourne, following the decision of former host Daniel MacPherson to not return. Edwina Bartholomew returned as co-host. Kym Johnson, Todd McKenney, and Helen Richey returned as judges,. while Adam Garcia did not return due to his wife's pregnancy. Bruno Tonioli appeared as a guest judge during the first three weeks of the competition.
