The Department of Psychiatry is a department of the University of Cambridge that conducts research and teaching in psychiatry. [1]
Founded in 1976, [2] the Department of Psychiatry is one of the smaller departments within the School of Clinical Medicine, dedicated to delivering excellence in scientific research and teaching related to psychiatry. [3]
The department's research areas include cognitive neuroscience, neuroimaging and neuropsychiatry, developmental psychiatry, epidemiology and health services research, and molecular neuropathology. [4]
The department provides teaching in psychiatry for medical students, as well as research teaching. [5]
The department has close links to Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust, the local NHS provider of mental health and community care services. [3] The department's founding arose from links between the University of Cambridge and Fulbourn Hospital. [2]
