Devon Pritchard is an American businesswoman who is currently the executive vice president of Revenue, Marketing and Consumer Experience of Nintendo of America since 2021 and is expected to become the President and chief operating officer of Nintendo of America effective January 1, 2026, replacing Doug Bowser. [1] [2] She will be the fifth person to hold the title and the first woman. She joined Nintendo in 2006. [2] [3]
Pritchard joined Nintendo of America in 2006 as head of the legal department during the transition from president Tatsumi Kimishima to Reggie Fils-Aimé. [4] She later took on leadership roles in marketing, business affairs, and publisher relations. [2] In November 2021, she began acting as executive vice president of sales, marketing, and communications, a role made permanent in July 2022. [2] In this position, she oversees strategy and execution across the United States and Canada, including physical and digital sales growth, marketing, advertising, events, social media, and original content. [2] She has contributed to major Nintendo Switch game launches, such as Pokémon Legends: Arceus , Kirby and the Forgotten Land , and Nintendo Switch Sports . [3] Upon assuming the role of president and COO, Pritchard will directly report to the also recently promoted Nintendo of America CEO Satoru Shibata, join the Nintendo of America board of directors and become an executive officer at Nintendo in Japan. Pritchard earned a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Kansas State University, where she played on the university's volleyball team. In 2001, Pritchard obtained her doctorate in law from the Gonzaga University School of Law. [4]
