Joscelyn Eve Stoker, known professionally as Joss Stone, is an English singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to prominence in late 2003 with her multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions, which made the 2004 Mercury Prize shortlist. Her second album, Mind Body & Soul (2004), topped the UK Albums Chart and spawned the top-ten single "You Had Me", Stone's most successful single on the UK Singles Chart to date. Both the album and single received one nomination at the 2005 Grammy Awards, while Stone herself was nominated for Best New Artist, and in an annual BBC poll of music critics, Sound of 2004, was ranked fifth as a predicted breakthrough act of 2004. She became the youngest British female singer to top the UK Albums Chart. Stone's third album, Introducing Joss Stone, released in March 2007, achieved gold record status by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and yielded the second-ever highest debut for a British female solo artist on the Billboard 200, and became Stone's first top-five album in the US.
Mind Body & Soul is the second studio album by English singer and songwriter Joss Stone, released on 15 September 2004 by S-Curve Records. The album received generally favourable reviews from music critics and earned Stone three Grammy Award nominations, including Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album.

"Lie About Us" is a song recorded by American singer Avant from his fourth studio album Director (2006), featuring American singer Nicole Scherzinger. The song was written by Beau Dozier and Bruce Boniface and its production was handled by Dozier and Ron Fair. The track was inspired by the time Dozier had a secret affair with singer Joss Stone while being in a relationship. In the neo soul song the lyrics chronicles the man's promise to the mistress and come clean about the relationship. It was released as the album's fourth single on July 31, 2006 to urban contemporary stations in the United States. An accompanying music video was released several days earlier and portrays the artists as love interests.
"Move Ya Body" is a song by American musical duo Nina Sky featuring rapper Jabba. It was released on April 12, 2004, as the lead single from their debut album, Nina Sky (2004). The song became the duo's only solo single to reach the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Mind Body & Soul Sessions: Live in New York City is the first video album by English singer and songwriter Joss Stone, released on DVD on 13 December 2004 by S-Curve Records. It was filmed during Stone's sold-out concert at New York City's Irving Plaza on 9 September 2004, with additional live vocals from performances at La Zona Rosa in Austin, Texas, on 24 April 2004 and at the House of Blues in New Orleans on 27 April 2004. The DVD includes songs from her first two studio albums, The Soul Sessions (2003) and Mind Body & Soul (2004).

It was written by Eddie Floyd, who recorded his own version in 2008 for the album Eddie Loves You So. Australian band Absent Friends covered the song for their 1990 debut album, Here's Looking Up Your Address, featuring Wendy Matthews on lead vocals and Peter Blakeley on backing vocals.
"Escaping" is the debut solo single of New Zealand singer Margaret Urlich. The song was released in September 1989 by CBS and charted at number one for three weeks in the New Zealand singles chart, later reaching number 17 in Australia. It is the opening track on Urlich's debut album, Safety in Numbers (1989), and also features on her 1994 live album Live.
