Emma Strandberg Winkel (born 1996) is a Swedish model, actress and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World Sweden 2016 and Miss Universe Sweden 2018. She represented Sweden in Miss World 2016 and also represented Sweden in Miss Universe 2018 pageant. [1] [2]

Miss World Sweden is a national Beauty pageant that has selected Sweden's representative to the Miss World pageant.

Miss Universe Sweden is a beauty pageant, qualifying delegates to the Miss Universe competition. The first national final was held on June 6, 2009, the National Day of Sweden. Among the judges were Yvonne Ryding, Miss Universe 1984. The pageant is a late branch of the Miss Sweden contest. The director of the contest is Joakim Granberg of the Starworld Entertainment Corporation.

Miss World 2016 beauty pageant edition

Miss World 2016, the 66th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 18 December 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Washington, D.C., United States. 117 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Mireia Lalaguna of Spain crowned her successor Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico at the end of the event. It was the second time that the Miss World pageant held in the United States. Indonesia maintained its position of 2nd-runner up for two consecutive years.

Education

Strandberg attended Malardalens University, where she studied International Communication.

International communication is the communication practice that occurs across international borders. The need for international communication was due to the increasing effects and influences of globalization. As a field of study, international communication is a branch of communication studies, concerned with the scope of "government-to-government", "business-to-business", and "people-to-people" interactions at a global level. Currently, international communication is being taught at colleges across the United States. Due to the increasingly globalized market, employees who possess the ability to effectively communicate across cultures are in high demand. International communication "encompasses political, economic, social, cultural and military concerns".

Miss World Sweden 2016

Strandberg joined Miss World Sweden 2016 pageant held on May 28, 2016 at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm, where she was crowned as the Miss World Sweden 2016 by her predecessor, Miss World Sweden 2015, Natalia Fogelund.

Miss World 2016

Strandberg later represented Sweden at the Miss World 2016 pageant held on 18 December 2016 at the MGM National Harbor, Washington, D.C., United States, but did not place among the top 20. The eventual winner was Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico.

On 23 September 2018, Strandberg joined Miss Universe Sweden 2018 at the Cafe Opera in Stockholm, where she was crowned as Miss Universe Sweden 2018. She succeeded the outgoing Miss Universe Sweden 2017 Frida Fornander. [3]

Frida Maria Fornander is a Swedish model and beauty pageant titleholder. She was crowned Miss Earth Sweden 2014, and competed in Miss Earth 2014. Later, she also won Miss Universe Sweden 2017 and competed in Miss Universe 2017.

Strandberg will represent Sweden at the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand where she was unplaced.

Miss World 2015, the 65th edition of the Miss World pageant, was held on 19 December 2015 at the outdoor arena of the Crown of Beauty Theatre in Sanya, China. 114 contestants from all over the world competed for the crown. Rolene Strauss of South Africa crowned her successor Mireia Lalaguna of Spain at the end of the event. It was the very first time in the history of Miss World that Spain won the pageant.
