Forever is the eleventh greatest hits album by Cher, released September 20, 2024, through Warner Records. The compilation was released in two versions: the first, Forever, featured 21 of the singer's best-known tracks; the second version, Forever Fan, contained a total of 40 tracks.
Cher announced the compilation release on August 1, 2024. [1] [2] The 21-track standard edition of the album was released on CD and a special double vinyl package "printed on silver foil board with translucent vinyl," while the Forever Fan edition is a digital release available on all streaming outlets. [3] Rolling Stone noted the omission of "Half-Breed" (1973), a Billboard Hot 100 number one hit, and suggested that Cher is "among a growing list of legacy acts rethinking songs and artwork that may not hold up today." [4]
On the day of the album's announcement, Cher released the promotional single "A Woman's Story". The song was remastered and available on digital for the first time after only being previously released on a 45 rpm single in 1974. [3]

In the United States, Forever debuted at number 163 on the Billboard 200 album chart. [6] In the United Kingdom, the album debuted at number 44 on the Official Albums Chart. [7]

It debuted at number seven on the Billboard 200 albums chart and later reached number four on the issue date of May 17. As of November 2011, the album has sold 2.8 million copies in the United States.
Step One is the debut album by British pop group Steps. It was released in the UK and Europe on 14 September 1998. The album charted at number two on the UK Albums Chart upon its release, going on to spend 64 weeks in the chart. It was beaten to number one by This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours by Manic Street Preachers, who also beat Steps' single "One for Sorrow" to number one on the UK Singles Chart with the song "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next". In February 2000, the album was re-released in the US, containing songs from both Step One and its successor, Steptacular. Hot Rocks 1964–1971 is a compilation album by the Rolling Stones released by London Records in December 1971. It became the Rolling Stones' best-selling release of their career and an enduring and popular retrospective. The album includes a mixture of hit singles, such as "Jumping Jack Flash", B-sides such as "Play with Fire", and album tracks such as "Under My Thumb" and "Gimme Shelter", the last of which has become one of the Rolling Stones' most popular and highly regarded songs. The album artwork depicts five nested silhouettes of the band members' profiles taken by rock photographer Ron Raffaelli in 1969. A photograph of the band at Swarkestone Hall Pavilion, taken by Michael Joseph in 1968, was printed on the back cover of the vinyl release.

This compilation was not available in the United States, due to the release of the US-only compilation, If I Could Turn Back Time: Cher's Greatest Hits which was released that same year. The album sold 3 million copies as of January 2000.
Exile on Mainstream is the first compilation album by American rock band Matchbox Twenty. The album was released in two parts: the first was an EP, featuring seven new songs that emerged from a 12-song recording session, produced by Steve Lillywhite. Past Masters is a two-disc compilation album set by the English rock band the Beatles. It was originally released as two separate volumes on 7 March 1988, as part of the first issue of the band's catalogue on compact disc. The album contains all songs released commercially by the band that were not available on the Beatles' 12 original UK albums or the US Magical Mystery Tour LP. It was compiled by Beatles historian Mark Lewisohn, who also wrote the liner notes. The majority of the Past Masters set consists of A- and B-sides from the band's singles, including single versions of songs that appeared in a different form on the band's albums. Also included are the full contents of the UK-only Long Tall Sally EP, two German-language tracks, a song recorded for the American market, and a track released on a charity compilation album.
Celebration is the third greatest hits album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on September 18, 2009, by Warner Bros. Records. Love Songs is a compilation album by British hard rock band Whitesnake, released on 6 November 2020 by Rhino Records. The album contains "revisited, remixed and remastered" versions of previously released songs, and is the second in a series called Red, White and Blues Trilogy following The Rock Album (2020) and followed by The Blues Album (2021). Compared to other two compilation, this one did not manage to chart on the UK Albums Chart, but it topped the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart.
