Frequency is the upcoming seventh EP by the Chinese boy band WayV,released on November 25,2024 by SM Entertainment and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. The six-track EP will be preceded by the release of "High Five" on November 19,and will be released along with the title track of the same name,in both Korean and Mandarin. The album will be the third consecutive release by the band without member Winwin,who has been on hiatus from the group since May 2024 due to scheduling conflicts. [1] [2]
Frequency is WayV's third project of 2024,following previous EP Give Me That [3] and Japanese debut The Highest . [4] Both releases were successful,debuting at number-one on the South Korean Circle Album Chart [5] and Japanese Oricon Albums Chart, [4] respectively.
First mention of a new WayV release came on August 8,when SM Entertainment released its roadmap for the upcoming two quarters confirming the band was planning to release a new EP in the fourth quarter. [6] Frequency was officially announced on October 28,with SM confirming that the 6-track EP would be released on November 25,along with the title track of the same name,recorded in both Korean and Mandarin. WayV will promote the EP with their ongoing "On The Way" concert tour,which began in August 2024 in Nagoya,Japan. [7] The tour will continue throughout Asia,wrapping up in February 2025. [8]

Kim Jae-joong, also known mononymously as Jaejoong in South Korea and Jejung/J-Jun (ジェジュン) in Japan, is a South Korean singer, songwriter, actor and director. He is currently a member of the Korean pop duo JX, a member of the inactive pop group JYJ and was one of the original members of boy band TVXQ!, where he was formerly known by the stage name Hero Jae-joong. WayV is a Chinese boy band and the fourth overall sub-unit of the South Korean boy band NCT, managed by SM's Chinese sub-label, Label V. The group is currently composed of Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery, and Yangyang; Lucas was part of the original lineup but departed in May 2023.
