Fundy Albert is a village municipality in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The jurisdiction was formed through the 2023 New Brunswick local governance reforms which saw the consolidation of local government entities into regions or districts.

History

Fundy Albert was established on January 1, 2023 by New Brunswick regulation 2022-50, the Local Governments Establishment Regulation of the Local Governance act, through the amalgamation of the village municipalities of Alma, Riverside-Albert and Hillsborough while at the same time annexing certain mostly adjacent unincorporated areas. [5]

Climate

Fundy Albert has a relatively cool, wet and snowy humid continental climate with significant seasonal differences in spite of its near-ocean location. Summers are warm but relatively short, whereas winters are relatively cold but milder than inland areas.

Fundy-St. Martins is a village municipality in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The jurisdiction was formed through the 2023 New Brunswick local governance reforms which saw the consolidation of entities into regions or districts.

Municipal elections were held in the Canadian province of New Brunswick on 28 November 2022 to elect local governments in newly formed municipalities following the 2023 New Brunswick local governance reform process. The new municipalities will come into existence on 1 January 2023. In total, there will be elections for 50 new municipalities and 12 rural districts, with a total of 446 elected positions. Of the 446 positions, 148 seats were elected by acclamation. Four spots had no candidates at all and will be filled with by-elections in May 2023. Elections are not being held in larger municipalities such as Moncton, Saint John and Fredericton which did not go through the government reform.
