Hinjawadi (also incorrectly spelt Hinjewadi) is a suburb in Pune, India. It houses the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park, a large tech and business park spread over 2,800 acres, which was built by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation. [1] [2] [3] [4] The business park has offices of over 800 companies. [5]
Given to rapid development, Hinjawadi is prone to severe traffic congestion during the peak hours i.e. 8.00 AM to 12:00 PM and 5.30 PM to 8.00 PM. Accordingly, the HMVs (Heavy Motor Vehicles) are barred from entering Hinjawadi during these hours. The area sees a commute of roughly over 240,000 employees on a daily basis to and from the IT park. PMPML also operates night buses after midnight on 7 routes. [7] PMPML also runs special services for tourists under the name 'Pune Darshan' as well as airport services from Rajiv Gandhi IT Park, Hinjawadi to Pune Airport.
Line 3 of the Pune Metro is the third line of the city's under-construction mass transit network. It will run from Civil Court, Pune to Megapolis Pune in Hinjawadi. The 23.3 km (14.5 mi) line will be completely elevated and will have 23 stations and will align with the MahaMetro lines at the Civil Court interchange station. [8] [9] Depot will be located at Maan village. It will be spread across 20 hectares (49 acres). [10] The project is set to be completed in March 2025. [11]

Pune, previously spelled in English as Poona, is a city in the state of Maharashtra in the Deccan plateau in Western India. It is the administrative headquarters of the Pune district, and of Pune division. According to the 2011 Census of India, Pune has 7.2 million residents in the metropolitan region, making it the seventh-most populous metropolitan area in India. Pimpri-Chinchwad, also known as PCMC, is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Chinchwad is an upscale locality in the city of Pimpri Chinchwad, which is about 15 km (9.3 mi) northwest of the historic city of Pune situated on the banks of Pavna river. Pune Metro is a mass rapid transit system serving the city of Pune, India. The system comprises three lines with a combined length of 54.14 km (33.64 mi), of which 32.97 km (20.49 mi) on two lines are operational as of November 2024. The extended metro line from Ruby Hall Clinic to Ramwadi - including the Bund Garden, Kalyani Nagar and Ramwadi metro stations - covers a distance of 6 km. It was inaugurated on 6 March 2024. The 16.59 km (10.31 mi) Purple Line from PCMC Bhavan to Swargate runs on an elevated viaduct between PCMC Bhavan to Range Hills, from where it goes underground. The Aqua Line runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi covering a distance of 14.66 km (9.11 mi) on an elevated viaduct. The 23.33 km (14.50 mi) elevated Line 3 Puneri Metro will run from the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi via Balewadi to Civil Court. All three lines will align at the District Court interchange station.

Megapolis is an residential township in Pimpri-Chinchwad, India. It is located along the outskirts of Pune, in Hinjawadi. The township is being built at an estimated cost of ₹3,000 crore (US$360 million). It is developed by Pegasus Properties, a joint venture of Kumar Properties and Avinash Bhosale Infrastructure Ltd (ABIL). Work on the project started in early 2007, it was launched in April 2012, and possession of various building and housing projects started in 2013. Some new building clusters are launched in 2018 and 2019.

Blue Ridge is a township built under the new Township Act by Paranjape Schemes. Such townships are also known as Integrated Townships. It is located in Hinjawadi in Pimpri Chinchwad, Maharashtra, India. The township area is approximately 138 acres and was designed to be a self sufficient town with various amenities available inside the town. Citizens started occupying the houses since 2010, and continues to develop itself with newer mid- and high-rise residential towers.
Bhoirwadi is an area located in Hinjawadi Phase-3, Pune, in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is under the jurisdiction of Hinjawadi and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). The Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park Phase-3 and International Tech Park are located in this area. Bhoirwadi is well connected and near Balewadi, Baner, Aundh, Pune. Bhoirwadi used to be a village, but now it has been drastically transformed into an affluent, developed area with multinational companies and residential high-rises.

Puneri Metro Line 3 of the Pune Metro is the third line of the city of Pune's under-construction mass transit network. It will run from District Court, Pune to Megapolis Pune in Hinjawadi. The 23.3 km (14.5 mi) line will be completely elevated and will have 23 stations and will align with the MahaMetro lines at the District Court interchange station. The construction will be taken up in two phases, the section between Hinjawadi and Balewadi is expected to be taken up first, followed by the section between Balewadi and District Court, Shivaji Nagar. A metro car shed will be built in Hinjawadi. The MIDC will provide 55 acres of land in Hinjawadi for setting up a Metro rail depot. On 3 August 2018, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) announced the final bidder for the project — the joint venture Tata Realty-Siemens.Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited On 3 October 2018, Tata Realty-Siemens were awarded the contract to execute the project on a design, build, finance, operate and transfer model. The formal concession agreement was signed in September 2019 with the construction expected to begin in March 2020. The project is set to be completed in March 2025.
Maan is a part of Pune district close to Pune city, in the state of Maharashtra, India. Parts of the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park Phase 2 & 3 are located in it, which makes it an important region. It is under the administrative control of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA). Maan was a rural area, but with the establishment of multinational companies and construction of residential high-rises since the noughties, it has developed into an urban center.
Shivajinagar is an underground metro station on the North-South corridor of the Purple Line of Pune Metro in Pune, India. The station was opened on 1 August 2023 as an extension of Pune Metro Phase I. Since then, this line was operational between PCMC and Civil Court. On 29 September 2024, the launch of Pune Metro Phase I was completed and the Purple Line was fully operational from PCMC to Swargate. This station will serve as an interchange for Line 3 of Pune Metro which will operate from Civil Court to Megapolis Circle.
