Swargate is an area of Pune, Maharashtra, India. This is one of the busiest areas in Pune. The Swargate connects Pune to various areas like Hadapsar, Fursungi, Dhankawadi, Bibwewadi, etc. [1] The areas under Swargate include Guru Nanak Nagar, Mukund Nagar, and Municipal Colony. The old city of Pune ends here.
Swargate has a Major bus stand for Pune. It serves as a BRTS terminal for Katraj – Swargate, and Hadapsar – Swargate bus routes. It is a commercial area with important buildings like Income Tax office, PMC branch (Swargate), and other commercial buildings. Swargate will also serve as a major head for the Pune Metro project. It is well connected to the city and nearby villages by PMPML buses. Swargate also accommodates a large number of auto-rickshaws which ply their trade from the Swargate bus terminus. These auto-rickshaws provide an important cheap alternative transport to the residents of Pune. These three-wheeled transport alternatives are available in both prepaid and postpaid payment terms at the Swargate bus terminal.
Swargate has a rich history dating back to the pre-independence era. The first bus service from Swargate was started in the year 1940. At that time, the Tongawalas or horse-drawn carriage owners opposed the move. In 1941, the first public bus rolled out of Swargate. There are many places for tourist places and entertainment places in the area of Swargate Those include Ganesh Kalakrida Mandir, Nehru Stadium, Saras Baug, Sanas Maidan, and Laxminarayan cinema hall, Parvati, Raja Kelkar Museum, etc. The famous Mahalaxmi temple of Pune is located near Sarasbaug near this area.
The Pune – Satara road originates from here. Shankar Sheth road which originates from this area serves as a link between Poolgate and Swargate. Tilak road links Swargate to Deccan Gymkhana while Shivajinagar is linked to Swagate by Shivaji road. Sinhagad road or Narvir Tanaji Malusure road originates from the southern side of Sarasbaug near the Swargate area. Jedhe square which is an important road junction marks the origin of five roads. The location of Swargate PMPML depot and MSRTC stand is in the Jedhe square.
Swargate is one of the major hubs of the Maharashtra State Transport network. [2] From here buses leave for Mumbai, Satara, Baramati, Kolhapur, Belgaum, and other places [3] around Pune. Buses operate from 4 a.m. to midnight. Recently due to heavy traffic in the area, Pune municipal government has decided to make the major roads in this area one-way only. [4] It is a very crowded place.

Pune Metro is a mass rapid transit system serving the city of Pune, India. The system comprises 3 lines with a combined length of 54.58 km (33.91 mi), of which 12 km (7.5 mi) on two lines are operational as of March 2022. The 16.59 km (10.31 mi) Purple line from PCMC Bhavan to Swargate runs on an elevated viaduct between PCMC Bhavan to Range Hills, from where it goes underground. The Aqua line runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi covering a distance of 14.66 km (9.11 mi) on an elevated viaduct. The 23.33 km (14.50 mi) elevated Line 3 will run from the Rajiv Gandhi Infotech Park in Hinjawadi via Balewadi to Civil Court. All three lines will align at the Civil Court interchange station.
Sarasbaug is a major landmark in the city of Pune in India. The place where the park now stands was once occupied by a small lake. However, the lake dried up and was later developed into Sarasbaug. The whole 25-acre (10 ha) complex is known as Sarasbaug. The Ganesh temple in Saras Baug is also known as Talyatla Ganapati which translates as the Ganapati of the lake.

Thoseghar waterfalls is a scenic spot located near the small village of Thoseghar, 20 km from Satara city, at the edge of the Konkan region, in Western India. There are a series of waterfalls, some of them 15 to 20 metres and one of approx 200 metres in height. People come from all over Maharashtra to visit the area, especially during the rainy or monsoon season, July to November. Heavy rain falls during that season and because of this the falls have more water and are more spectacular. The immediate area is calm and quiet, with a clean lake and dark woods in a hilly area.

Rainbow BRTS is a bus rapid transit system in the city of Pune. The system is operated by the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML). The infrastructure has been developed by the Pune Municipal Corporation & Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, Pune. The project currently envisages 113 km of dedicated bus corridors along with buses, bus stations, terminals and intelligent transit management system.
