Punyeshwar Mahadev Mandir [1] was a Shiva temple along the bank of the river Mutha in Pune. Along with Puneshwar there existed another temple named Narayaneshwar. In the late thirteenth century Puneshwar temple was pulled down [2] and converted into a dargah now called Dhakta (Younger) Sheikh Salla Dargah, [3] which stands in its place to this day. The Narayaneshwar was also converted into the Senior Sheikh Salla dargah around the same time. In 2006, a wall along the river collapsed leading to finding of old artefacts of the Puneshwar temple under the dargah.
The temple remains one of the earliest named temples, after Pataleshwar in the city of Pune, although it does not exist in its original form now.

Shiradwad is a village in Belgaum district of Karnataka, situated on the bank of Dudhaganga River.The Village has population of around 3000 (Approx) with Kannada being the mainly spoken language followed by Marathi. Shiradwad is also known as Chand Shiradwad to differentiate it from another village with the same name in Maharashtra. The word Chand is derived from the famous shrine built on the bank of Dudhaganga river named, 'Chand Peer Dargah'. However the official name of the town remains as Shiradwad. Narayanpur is a small village located in Purandhar valley in Pune district, Maharashtra, India. It is located about 35 km south of Pune city. One can reach Narayanpur from Pune either from Dive ghat and Saswad or from Katraj Ghat and Mumbai-Pune-Satara Road. Narayanpur is situated at the bottom of famous Purandar fort. Lord Indra's second name is Purandar. Indra made austerity on a nearby mountain, hence the name Purandhar valley. Trupti Desai is an Indian social activist and the founder of the Bhumata Brigade & Bhumata Foundation, a Pune-based organization. Desai has campaigned for allowing women to religious places like the Shani Shingnapur Temple, the Haji Ali Dargah, the Mahalakshmi Temple, and the Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple, all in Maharashtra, and most recently the Sabarimala temple in Kerala. In 2012, she was an Indian National Congress candidate for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections. In 2021, she participated in Bigg Boss Marathi 3 as a contestant and evicted on Day 49.
