Homoneura is a genus of small flies of the family Lauxaniidae.
The Lauxaniidae are a family of acalyptrate flies. They generally are small flies with large compound eyes that often are brightly coloured in life, sometimes with characteristic horizontal stripes, such as in Cestrotus species. Many species have variegated patterns on their wings, but in contrast they generally do not have variegated bodies, except for genera such as Cestrotus, whose camouflage mimics lichens or the texture of granitic rocks.
Rhagio is a worldwide genus of predatory snipe flies. Several species in this genus are referred to as downlooker or down-looker flies because they sometimes perch on tree trunks in a head-down position. There are approximately 170 species. They can be distinguished from other rhagionids by the open anal cell on the wings and the lack of a kidney-shaped arista.
Condylostylus is a genus of flies in the family Dolichopodidae. It is the second largest genus in the subfamily Sciapodinae, with more 250 species included. It has a high diversity in the Neotropical realm, where 70% of the species occur.
Minettia is a genus of small flies of the family Lauxaniidae. They have almost worldwide distribution, is one of the most species rich genera of the family with more than 120 described species. The Palaearctic is the most diverse with some 56 described species. The genus is divided into 3 subgenera.
Oxycera is a genus of soldier flies in the family Stratiomyidae. There are at least 80 described species in Oxycera.
Trixoscelis is a genus of flies in the family Heleomyzidae. For the most part they are small to minute flies found in warm semi-arid conditions on sand dunes, dry grasslands or shrubby places. They are widely distributed in the Palaearctic.
Calliopum is a genus of small flies of the family Lauxaniidae.
Laphriinae is a subfamily of robber flies in the family Asilidae. There are more than 110 genera and 1,000 described species in Laphriinae. Larvae of the genus Hyperechia are known to grow inside the cells of Xylocopa bees, feeding on their larvae.
Cestrotus is a genus of brachyceran flies in the family Lauxaniidae.
Milichiella is a genus of freeloader flies in the family Milichiidae.
Trigonometopus is a genus of flies in the family Lauxaniidae. There are more than 20 described species in Trigonometopus.
Trypetisoma is a genus of flies in the family Lauxaniidae. There are more than 40 described species in Trypetisoma.
Cordilura is a genus of dung flies in the family Scathophagidae. There are more than 90 described species in Cordilura.
Heteromeringia is a genus of flies in the family Clusiidae. There are more than 70 described species in Heteromeringia.
Japanagromyza is a genus of leaf miner flies in the family Agromyzidae. There are more than 80 described species in Japanagromyza.
