Hymedesmia is a genus of sponges belonging to the family Hymedesmiidae. [2] The genus is divided into two subgenera, Hymedesmia (Hymedesmia) [3] and Hymedesmia (Stylopus). [4]

The genus has cosmopolitan distribution. [2]
