IDEC Sport Racing, more commonly referred to as IDEC Sport, is a French sports car racing outfit. Born from the ashes of Ruffier Racing in 2015, the team began racing GT3 cars in the 24H Series before moving on to sports prototypes. [1] [2] Spearheaded by LMP2 ace Paul-Loup Chatin for much of its history, IDEC won the 2019 European Le Mans Series title and has twice set class pole position at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2018 and 2023. [3] [4] [5] Although IDEC's corporate colour is red, it has most recently borne the colours of classic French brands Delage and Matra. [6] It is currently active in both the ELMS in LMP2 and the Michelin Le Mans Cup in LMP3.
The team is led by Patrice Lafargue, founder and CEO of the IDEC Group, a real estate construction company also known for its sponsorship of sailing trimarans. [7] [8] [9] Former Peugeot factory driver Nicolas Minassian joined him in 2018 as sporting director. [10]
For 2025, The team will partner with Genesis Magma Racing to help structure and prepare the team. This includes provididng engineers, technicians and mechanics. While also running a 2nd car in 2025 European Le Mans Series with Logan Sargeant, Jamie Chadwick and Mathys Jaubert as part of Genesis' Trajectory Program [11] .

Nicolas Lapierre is a retired French professional racing driver and team principal. Notable for winning the LMP2 class four times at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Lapierre was a factory driver at Toyota during the early days of the WEC before becoming a staple of the Alpine team until his retirement in 2024. He is also a two-time winner of the 12 Hours of Sebring and the 2003 champion at the Macau Grand Prix.

He has had notable successes within the LMP2 class, winning the European Le Mans Series in 2014 and 2019, as well as pole positions at the 2018 and 2023 iterations of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Other achievements include a class victory at the 2021 24 Hours of Daytona and the LMP2 title in the 2023 IMSA SportsCar Championship.
The 2017 FIA World Endurance Championship was the sixth season of the FIA World Endurance Championship, an auto racing series co-organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) and the Automobile Club de l'Ouest (ACO). The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes and grand tourer-style racing cars divided into four categories. The season began at the Silverstone Circuit in April and ended at the Bahrain International Circuit in November, and include the 85th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. World championship titles were awarded to the leading prototype drivers and manufacturers, while for the first time in the World Endurance Championship the leading grand touring drivers and manufacturers were also awarded a world championship.

The 93rd 24 Hours of Le Mans is an automobile endurance event that is scheduled to take place on 14–15 June 2025 at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France. It will be the 93rd running of the 24-hour race organised by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest. British marque Aston Martin has indicated they intend to run two modified Valkyries in the Le Mans Hypercar class, marking a return to the event for the first time since 2010.
