Idgah railway station is in Idgah colony in the southwest of the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Idgah railway station serves around 75,000 passengers every day.^[1]

History

The 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+3⁄8 in)-wide metre-gauge Delhi–Bandikui and Bandikui–Agra lines of Rajputana State Railway were opened in 1874.^[2] The Agra–Jaipur line was converted to 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm) broad gauge in 2005.^[3]

The broad-gauge Agra–Delhi chord was opened in 1904.^[4]

Electrification

The Faridabad–Mathura–Agra section was electrified in 1982–85, Tundla–Yamuna Bridge in 1998–99 and Yamuna Bridge-Agra in 1990–91.^[5]

Agra Fort railway station, is located near Agra Fort, in Rawatpara, Agra. It used to be one of the stations in India that had both broad gauge and metre gauge, until the line to Jaipur was converted to broad gauge. Agra Fort railway station comes under the North Central Railways.

Agra Cantonment is the main railway station in the Indian city of Agra. It is located near the Sadar Bazaar towards the southwest of the city. It lies on the main Delhi–Chennai and one of the Delhi–Mumbai lines.

Agra has a north-south broad gauge line intersecting an east-west broad gauge line. The crossing is around the Rui Ki Mandi area where the east west line passes under the North South line.

Rewari Junction railway station, station code RE, is a major railway station of the Indian Railways serving the city of Rewari in the Indian state of Haryana. It is in the Jaipur Division of the North Western Railway zone and lies on the Delhi–Ajmer–Ahmedabad route. Six railway lines branch out from this railway station. The seventh railway line from Rewari will be laid as a dedicated freight railway line as a part of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.

The Nagpur–Bhusawal section is part of the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line and connects Nagpur and Bhusawal both in the Indian state of Maharashtra. This section also has a number of branch lines. Part of one of the major trunk lines in the country, Nagpur–Bhusawal section passes through a section of the Deccan Plateau. The main line crosses Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Akola, and Buldhana districts of Vidarbha region and Jalgaon district of Khandesh region.

The Mughalsarai–Kanpur section, officially Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar–Kanpur section, is a railway line connecting Mughalsarai Junction and Kanpur Central. This 346 km (215 mi) track is part of the Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. The main line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway. Mughalsarai is under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. Some branch lines are under the jurisdiction of the North Eastern Railway and Northern Railway.

The Kanpur–Delhi section is a railway line connecting Kanpur Central and Delhi. This section includes Agra Chord and Etah link. The main line is part of Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. The Agra–Delhi chord is part of Delhi–Mumbai line and Delhi–Chennai line.

Hathras Junction railway station is on the Kanpur–Delhi section of Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. It is located in Hathras district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.It helps hathras and surrounding areas.

Mathura Junction railway station is an important station on Agra–Delhi chord of Delhi–Mumbai and Delhi–Chennai lines. It is located in Mathura district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is one of the important North-Central Railway station. It serves Mathura and Vrindavan. Premium Trains usually skip this station.

Bhuteshwar railway station is on the Agra–Delhi chord. It is located in Mathura district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It serves the suburban areas of Mathura.It is nearby to Sri Krishna Janmbhoomi and Bhuteshwar Mahadev Temple.

Raja ki Mandi railway station is on the Agra–Delhi chord. It is located in Agra district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It serves Raja ki Mandi and surrounding neighbourhoods in Agra.

Yamuna Bridge railway station is on the Tundla–Agra branch line. It is located in Agra district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It serves Etmaddoula and surrounding neighbourhoods in Agra.

The Agra–Bhopal section is a railway line connecting the 16–17th century capital of the Mughals, Agra and Bhopal, capital of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. This 508 km (316 mi) track is part of the Delhi–Chennai line. The line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway and West Central Railway.

The Delhi–Jaipur line connects Jaipur city with Delhi, the capital of India and is present of Ahmedabad–Delhi main line.

The Jaipur–Ahmedabad line connects Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan to Ahmedabad, the largest city of Gujarat in India. It is present on Ahmedabad–Delhi main line. Swarna Jayanti Rajdhani Express is the fastest train in this route.
