Idgah railway station is in Idgah colony in the southwest of the city of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Idgah railway station serves around 75,000 passengers every day. [1]

History

The 1,000 mm (3 ft 3+38 in)-wide metre-gauge Delhi–Bandikui and Bandikui–Agra lines of Rajputana State Railway were opened in 1874. [2] The Agra–Jaipur line was converted to 5 ft 6 in (1,676 mm) broad gauge in 2005. [3]

The broad-gauge Agra–Delhi chord was opened in 1904. [4]

Electrification

The Faridabad–Mathura–Agra section was electrified in 1982–85, Tundla–Yamuna Bridge in 1998–99 and Yamuna Bridge-Agra in 1990–91. [5]

The Nagpur–Bhusawal section is part of the Howrah–Nagpur–Mumbai line and connects Nagpur and Bhusawal both in the Indian state of Maharashtra. This section also has a number of branch lines. Part of one of the major trunk lines in the country, Nagpur–Bhusawal section passes through a section of the Deccan Plateau. The main line crosses Nagpur, Wardha, Amravati, Akola, and Buldhana districts of Vidarbha region and Jalgaon district of Khandesh region.

Mughalsarai–Kanpur section Railway line in India

The Mughalsarai–Kanpur section, officially Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Nagar–Kanpur section, is a railway line connecting Mughalsarai Junction and Kanpur Central. This 346 km (215 mi) track is part of the Howrah–Delhi main line and Howrah–Gaya–Delhi line. The main line is under the jurisdiction of North Central Railway. Mughalsarai is under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. Some branch lines are under the jurisdiction of the North Eastern Railway and Northern Railway.
