The North Eastern Railway is one of the 18 railway zones of Indian Railways. It is headquartered at Gorakhpur.

Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction is under the jurisdiction of East Central Railway. Some branch lines are under the jurisdiction of the North Eastern Railway and Northern Railway.
