Incarvillea is a genus of about 16 species [1] [2] of flowering plants in the family Bignoniaceae, native to central and eastern Asia, with most of the species growing at high altitudes in the Himalaya and Tibet. The most familiar species is Incarvillea delavayi , a garden plant commonly known as hardy gloxinia [note 1] or Chinese trumpet flower. Unlike most other members of Bignoniaceae, which are mainly tropical woody plants, species of Incarvillea are herbaceous perennial plants from temperate regions. [2]
Genetic analysis supports the division of the genus into five clades: the subgenus Niedzwedzkia, the subgenus Amphicome, the subgenus Incarvillea, the subgenus Pteroscleris, and the species I. olgae, which does not fit into a subgenus. It may be given a subgenus of its own in a future study. [2]
Incarvillea is named after the French Jesuit missionary and botanist Pierre Nicholas Le Chéron d'Incarville. [3]

Fritillaria (fritillaries) is a genus of spring flowering herbaceous bulbous perennial plants in the lily family (Liliaceae). The type species, Fritillaria meleagris, was first described in Europe in 1571, while other species from the Middle East and Asia were also introduced to Europe at that time. The genus has about 130–140 species divided among eight subgenera. The flowers are usually solitary, nodding and bell-shaped with bulbs that have fleshy scales, resembling those of lilies. They are known for their large genome size and genetically are very closely related to lilies. Ophiocordyceps sinensis is known in English colloquially as caterpillar fungus, or by its more prominent names yartsa gunbu, or dōng chóng xià cǎo or Yarsa-gumba or Yarcha-gumba, or Keeda Jadi, or ရှီးပတီး. However, the fruiting bodies harvested in nature usually contain high amounts of arsenic and other heavy metals so they are potentially toxic and sales have been strictly regulated by the CFDA since 2016.

The Euphorbiaceae, the spurge family, are a large family of flowering plants. In common English, they are sometimes called euphorbias, which is also the name of a genus in the family. The blockade of anandamide transport may, at least in part, be the mechanism through which these compounds exert their anti-nociceptive effects.
Incarvillea semiretschenskia is a rare perennial flower endemic to dry, rocky hillsides in Kazakhstan, placed on the IUCN Red List in 1997. It was first described as Niedzwedzkia semiretschenskia, the only species in the genus Niedzwedzkia. It has also been placed as the only species in Incarvillea subgenus Niedzwedzkia.
