Infurcitinea is a genus of the fungus moth family, Tineidae. Therein, it belongs to the Meessiinae, one of the larger fungus moth subfamilies. [1]
76 species were placed in Infurcitinea as of 2003, but new species are still being discovered regularly: [2]
Many formerly independent genera have in more recent times been included in Infurcitinea. Some of them – e.g. Karsholtia, Omichlospora and Tineiforma– are still considered distinct by some authors today. But this seems hardly justified, as splitting off such small or even monotypic groups is liable to make Infurcitinea paraphyletic, and thus the following are usually treated as junior synonyms of the present genus: [3]
Eudarcia is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae.
Ateliotum is a small genus of the fungus moth family, Tineidae. It belongs to the subfamily Myrmecozelinae.
Nemapogon is a genus of the fungus moth family, Tineidae. Therein, it belongs to the subfamily Nemapogoninae. As evident by its name, it is the type genus of its subfamily.
Edosa is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae.
Perissomastix is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae.
Anomalotinea is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae.
Crypsithyris is a genus of moths belonging to the family Tineidae.
Monopis is a genus of the fungus moth family, Tineidae. Therein, it belongs to the nominate subfamily, Tineinae.
Depressaria is a genus of moths in the superfamily Gelechioidea. It is the type genus of subfamily Depressariinae, which is often – particularly in older treatments – considered a distinct family Depressariidae or included in the Elachistidae, but actually seems to belong in the Oecophoridae.
The Symmocinae are a subfamily of moths in the superfamily Gelechioidea. These small moths are found mainly in the Palearctic and Africa.
Tinea is a genus of the fungus moth family, Tineidae. Therein, it belongs to the subfamily Tineinae. As evident by its name, it is the type genus of its subfamily and family. Established as one of the first subgroups of "Phalaena", it used to contain many species of Tineidae that are nowadays placed in other genera, as well as a few moths nowadays placed elsewhere.
Epermenia is a genus of moths in the family Epermeniidae. The genus was first described by Jacob Hübner in 1825.
