Joginder Singh Bedi was an Indian track and field Paralympic athlete. [1] Singh Bedi competed at the 1984 Summer Paralympics, where he won three medals. [2]
Mandira Bedi is an Indian actress, fashion designer, and television presenter. She gained recognition by playing the titular role in the 1994 television show, Shanti, which was telecast on India's national channel, Doordarshan. Bishan Singh Bedi; born 25 September 1946) is a former Indian cricketer who was primarily a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played Test cricket for India from 1966 to 1979 and formed part of the famous Indian spin quartet. He played a total of 67 Tests and took 266 wickets. He also captained the national side in 22 Test matches. Bedi wore a colourful patka and has always been known for his outspoken and forthright views on cricketing matters. He was awarded the Padma Shri award in 1970 and the C. K. Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004.
The Arun Jaitley Stadium is a cricket stadium owned and operated the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) and located on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi. It was established in 1883 as the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, and named after the nearby Kotla fort. It is the second oldest functional international cricket stadium in India, after the Eden Gardens of Kolkata. As of 25 October 2019, it has hosted 34 Tests, 25 ODIs and 6 T20I.
Kiran Bedi, is an Indian social activist, former-tennis player who became the first woman in India to join the officer ranks of the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1972 and was the 24th Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry from 28 May 2016 to 16 February 2021. She remained in service for 35 years before taking voluntary retirement in 2007 as Director General, Bureau of Police Research and Development.
Maninder Singhpronunciation (help·info) is a former Indian cricket player and a cricket commentator. He represented India in 35 Test matches and 59 One Day Internationals. A slow left-arm orthodox spin, Maninder was considered heir to Bishan Singh Bedi, who then held the record as India's leading spinner in terms of wickets. Maninder retired prematurely due to personal reasons. Singh holds the Test record for the most Tests in a complete career without aggregating 100 runs.
Subedar Joginder Singh Sahnan, PVC, was an Indian Army soldier who posthumously received India's highest military gallantry award, the Param Vir Chakra. Singh joined the British Indian Army in 1936 and served in the 1st battalion of the Sikh Regiment. During the 1962 Sino-Indian War, he was commanding a platoon at the Bum La Pass in the North-East Frontier Agency. Though heavily outnumbered, he bravely led his troops against a Chinese assault and defended his post until he was wounded and captured. Singh died from his injuries while in Chinese custody. He single-handedly killed more than 50 Chinese soldiers, and became a war hero within the Indian Armed forces.
Rao Joginder Singh whose name was recorded incorrectly as Joginder Singh Rao throughout his career was an Indian cricketer: a right-arm medium pace bowler who played only five first-class games, all for Services in the 1963–64 Ranji Trophy, but who is notable for having not only taken a hat-trick on debut, but for following that up with two more in the same innings of his second match, one of only two men to have achieved this latter feat and the only man to have taken three in his first two games.

Indian is a 2001 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by N. Maharajan and produced by Dharmendra. It stars Sunny Deol, and also features Shilpa Shetty, Danny Denzongpa, Raj Babbar, Mukesh Rishi and Rahul Dev in other roles. The film is a remake of the Director's own Tamil film Vallarasu and was released on 26 October 2001 with excellent box office reports, grossing a domestic nett of ₹18.0 million on its opening day. Made on a budget of ₹150 million, it was successful at the box office, earning over ₹540 million worldwide. The film tells the story of a strong, brave policeman who is falsely blamed for the mysterious murder of his father-in-law. It was the fourth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year in India with a nett gross of ₹280 million.
Jaswant Singh Rahi was a Punjabi poet, writer, communist and freedom fighter. He was born in and lived his whole life in Dera Baba Nanak town of Gurdaspur district of Punjab, India. Columnist Joginder Singh Bedi stated, "Born in the holy town of Dera Baba Nanak in Gurdaspur district, the Sahit Shiromani Poet Jaswant Singh Rahi's contribution to Punjabi world of letters is no less than that of Dhani Ram Chatrik, Prof Mohan Singh (poet) and Prof Puran Singh. Rahi is popularly known for his slogan Jai Mitarta."
India competed in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo, Japan, from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Indian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Paralympics since 1984, though they made their official debut at the 1968 Summer Paralympics. This was India's most successful Paralympic season with 5 golds 8 silvers and 6 bronzes. Before this edition, India had won 12 medals of all previous Paralympics appearances combined.
Harmohinder Singh Bedi is a Hindi author, an academician and an academic administrator from the Indian State of Punjab. Since 4 July 2018, he has been serving as the Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. He is also a Member of the Indian Council of Social Science Research and a Member of the National Monitoring Committee on Minority Education, Govt of India. Before joining Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Harmohinder Singh Bedi had served as Professor Emeritus, Punjabi University, Patiala and as Professor and Head of Department of Hindi, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. At Guru Nanak Dev University he had also served as Dean and Director of Chairs of Bhagat Kabir, Satguru Ram Singh and Swami Vivekanand.
