Dharambir Nain (born 18 January 1989) is an Indian para-athlete from Haryana. [1] He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris and won the gold medal in the men's club throw F51 event. He set an Asian record with his throw of 34.92 m. [2]
Nain was born in Badana village, Rohtak, Haryana. [1] He did his schooling at C. R. Z. Senior Secondary School, Sonipat. He was paralyzed below the waist after a diving accident on 2 June 2012 when he hit the rocks in a canal near his aunt's house. [2] His father passed away in 2011, and his accident soon after left him shattered. He was bed ridden for over a year and during this period, the visit of Amit Kumar Saroha to his house along with a friend, has changed his life as Saroha introduced him to sports. [2]
Nain took up para athletics in 2014, and was mentored in discus throw by Amit Kumar Saroha. He trains at Sports Authority of India facilities in Sonipat. [1]
Nain represented India at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, where he finished 9th. [3] He first took part in the London World Championships in 2017. [1] He won a silver medal at the 2018 Asian Para Games. [4] [5]
He represented India at the World Championship in Dubai in 2019 and Paris in 2023. [1] At the 2020 Summer Paralympics at Tokyo, he came 8th in his event. [4]
In 2022, he won two silver medals in club throw and discus throw at the 13th Fazza International Athletics Championships and a silver medal in club throw F51 at the 2022 Asian Para Games in Hangzhou, China. [1] That year he also received the Bhim Award, the highest sports honour presented by the state government of Haryana, India. [6]
He won a bronze medal at the 2024 World Para Athletic Championships in Kobe, Japan. [7]
Stephen James Miller MBE is a British athlete who competes in the fields of Paralympic club and discus throwing. He has won three gold, one silver, and one bronze medal in the F32/51 club throw at the Paralympics. In Paralympic F32/51 discus he won one bronze medal.
India first participated in the 1968 Summer Paralympics. The nation has appeared in every edition of the Summer Paralympics since 1984. The Paris 2024 Games marked India's 13th appearance at the Paralympics. The country has never participated in the Winter Paralympic Games.
Amit Kumar Saroha, also known as Amit Kumar Kumar or simply Amit Kumar, is a Paralympian, Asian Para Games medalist and an Arjuna Awardee, competing in the F51 category in Discus throw and Club throw. He is one of India's top Para athletes and the first quadriplegic to represent India at a Paralympic Games. He trains at the Sports Authority of India in Sonipat and is being supported by the GoSports Foundation
Deepa Malik is an Indian para athlete from Haryana. She is the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympic Games. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in shot put.
Rinku Hooda is an Indian para javelin thrower who competes in the F46 category. He represented India at the 2016 Summer Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris, his second Olympics and finished at 5th spot with the best throw of 61.58 metres.
Sundar Singh Gurjar an Indian Paralympic athlete from Rajasthan. He competes in javelin throw, shot put and discus throw in F46 category events. He won bronze medal at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in men's javelin F46 event. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris.
Miloš Mitić, was a Paralympian athlete from Serbia. He competed in Club throw in the F51 classification, a class for quadriplegics.
Ekta Bhyan is a para athlete who represents India in the women's Club and Discus throw events. She represented the country at the 2018 Asian Para Games held at Jakarta, Indonesia and won gold medal in the club throw event. She qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, following her second consecutive appearance in the World Para Athletics Championships. She has also represented India at the World Para Athletics Championships 2023, Paris, and won the Bronze medal at Club Throw. She has also competed and won medals in several IPC Grand Prix held at Berlin in 2016, Dubai in 2017, Tunisia in 2018 and Dubai in 2023. Ekta also won a bronze medal at the Asian Para Games held in Hangzhou, China in the Club Throw event.

Sumit Antil is an Indian Paralympian and javelin thrower. He won the gold in the men's javelin throw F64 event at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and the 2024 Paris Paralympics. He set a new Paralympic record both times with his throws of 68.55 m and 70.59 m respectively. He is a two-time gold medalist at the World Para Championships. In 2022, Antil not only won the gold medal at the Asian Para Games but also made the para-javelin WR of 73.29 m. He is a six-time world record holder.
Praveen Kumar is an Indian para-athlete from Uttar Pradesh. He won the gold at the 2024 Paris Paralympics and the silver at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. He's also an Asian Para Games 2022 gold medalist.
