Manish Narwal (born 17 October 2001) is an Indian Para Pistol Shooter. He ranks fourth in the world in Men's 10m Air Pistol SH1 according to the World Shooting Para Sport Rankings. He won a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris. [1] [2]

Career

He began shooting in 2016 in Ballabhgarh. [3] Narwal pistol shooting in 2016 at Faridabad in the Haryana State, was where he made history by setting a world record while clinching gold in the P4 mixed 50m pistol SH1 event at the 2021 Para Shooting World Cup. He won several medals, including gold, silver and bronze medals in the national and International events. [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]

Award

In 2020, Manish took The Arjuna Award, officially known as the Arjuna Awards for Outstanding Performance in Shooting sports. The Arjuna Award was the highest sporting honour of Republic of India. It is awarded annually by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. [10]

2020 Summer Paralympics

Manish Narwal qualified for the Paralympics Games in Tokyo and represented Team India at the Shooting Paralympic of the 2020 Summer Paralympics. He won a gold medal for India in Mixed P4 – 50 m pistol SH1. [11]

Sumit Antil is an Indian Paralympian and javelin thrower. He won the gold in the men's javelin throw F64 event at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and the 2024 Paris Paralympics. He set a new Paralympic record both times with his throws of 68.55 m and 70.59 m respectively. He is a two-time gold medalist at the World Para Championships. In 2022, Antil not only won the gold medal at the Asian Para Games but also made the para-javelin WR of 73.29 m. He is a six-time world record holder.

The 2022 World Shooting Para Sport Championships was the 8th edition of the World Shooting Para Sport Championships. It was held in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates from 6 to 17 November 2022. It was the first time the competition was staged in the Middle East.

Rudransh Khandelwal is an Indian para shooter from Rajasthan who competes in the 50m pistol event in SH1 category. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris. He finished 9th in the 10m Air Pistol event qualification round and did not advance to the final. In the 50m pistol SH1 qualifying event, he finished 22nd.

Nihal Singh is an Indian para shooter from Rajasthan. He competes in the P3 25m pistol individual event in SH1 category. He qualified to represent India at the 2024 Summer Paralympics at Paris. Despite his quota berth in 50m pistol event being surrendered due to new limitation of quotas per country in each category, he made it to the Paralympics in the P3 25 m pistol SH1 event and also played the mixed event. He finished 10th with a score of 569 in the qualification round and missed the finals. In the P4 50 m pistol SH1 event, he scored 522 and finished 19th in the qualification round.

Jo Jeong-du is a South Korean Para Pistol Shooter. He won a gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol SH1 event at the 2024 Summer Paralympics in Paris.
