John Snead

John Snead is a freelance role-playing writer who lives in Portland, Oregon. He studied math and history (B.A.) and cultural anthropology (MA). He has been gaming since 1980 and became a full-time designer and writer of role-playing games in 1998. Snead has worked for Chaosium, White Wolf, Last Unicorn, and Green Ronin, and Onyx Path.

Early life and education

His education includes majors in Mathematics and History and minors in Classics and Physics from Washington University in St. Louis as well as a M.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. [1]

Career

John Snead did some of the early work on Chaosium's Nephilim game line. [2] :93 He has also done work for White Wolf and Last Unicorn Games. [2] :372 Snead approached Green Ronin Publishing with his idea for a romantic fantasy role-playing game, Steve Kenson worked with him to produce it as Blue Rose (2005), the second OGL-based game published by Green Ronin. [2] :372 He came up with the initial idea and setting for and wrote a significant portion of Blue Rose, [3] and has written large amounts of Exalted , Trinity and Mage: The Awakening , as well as work on many other games. [4] Snead is the developer for Onyx Path Publishing's science fiction game Trinity Continuum: Æon. [5] Æon is a revised version of the Trinity role-playing game.

Ross A. Isaacs is a game designer who has worked primarily on role-playing games. He had done a scattering of freelance work for Alderac Entertainment Group and Chaosium before doing more extensive work for Holistic Designs. Isaacs contributed to Chaosium's Nephilim line, and ended up at Last Unicorn Games (LUG) shortly thereafter. As a new employee at LUG, he did the initial work on the "Icon" system for their Star Trek games, and after the design of Icon was done, he was made line developer for the Star Trek: The Next Generation Role-playing Game (1998). Isaacs remained with Last Unicorn when the company was bought first by Wizards of the Coast and then by Decipher, Inc. and in February 2001 Decipher offered the remaining Last Unicorn staff jobs in their new roleplaying department. Isaacs eventually returned to New York.

Chicago by Night is a tabletop role-playing game supplement originally released by White Wolf Publishing in 1991 for use with the first edition of their game Vampire: The Masquerade, and released in updated versions for the game's second and fifth editions in 1993 and 2020. As a sandbox-style setting sourcebook for storytellers to use in campaigns, Chicago by Night describes the city of Chicago as it is portrayed within the game's setting, reinterpreted as having a large population of vampires.
