Keraleeyam is an annual festival held in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. [1] [2] [3] It celebrates the development and achievements of Kerala and its culture. [2] [4] The festival includes seminars, exhibitions, trade fairs, film festivals, food festivals, flower show, light shows, cultural fests, B2B meetings etc, and is spread across more than 40 venues. [5]

Events

Over 25 curated expos and seminars, trade fair featuring over 400 stalls, 11 different types of food fests curated art exhibitions with a camp of contemporary painters and live caricature events, a film festival organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, flower shows across six venues, cultural fests showcasing Kerala's art and culture at 42 venues across the city, thematic illumination spanning from Kowdiar to East Fort, encompassing 8 distinct color themes across 8 designated areas are part of the festival. The Malayans are an Indian tribal community mostly found in Edamalayar of Kuttampuzha panchayat in Idukki district, Kerala. Classified as Scheduled Tribe in the state, the Malayans are adapted to occupations such as bamboo cutting, fishing, manual labour, and forest produce collection. They also lease their farmlands for nominal sums to land lords, and do manual labour in their own lands. Malayans are also found in forest areas from Thundathil to Parambikulam in forest ranges of Thrissur and Ernakulam districts. Malayalam-speaking Malayans exist as two subgroups—Nattumalayans and Kongamalayans. "Malayan" means "man on the hills" or "man who makes a livelihood by the hills". Today, these Malayan tribes have taken active participation in all educational as well as cultural fests.

Priyanka Nair is an Indian model-turned-actress who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry. She made her debut in the Tamil film Veyyil in 2006. She gained critical acclaim for her roles in Bhoomi Malayalam, Vilapangalkappuram and Jalam.

The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is an international exhibition of contemporary art held in the city of Kochi in Kerala, India. It is the largest art exhibition in the country and the biggest contemporary art festival in Asia. The Kochi-Muziris Biennale is an initiative of the Kochi Biennale Foundation with support from the Government of Kerala. The concept of Kochi-Muziris Biennale was ideated and executed by Dr. Venu Vasudevan IAS, who was the Government of Kerala's cultural secretary. Viswa Malayala Mahotsavam 2012 is an event organised jointly by Kerala Sahitya Akademi and the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala, at Thiruvananthapuram during 30, 31 October, 1 November 2012. The event was inaugurated by Pranab Mukherjee, President of India, on 30 October 2012 in a function held in the Senate Hall of Kerala University.
