Central bus station, also called Thampanoor bus station, is a bus station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. [1] It is located opposite the Trivandrum Central railway station at Thampanoor. It is the largest and busiest bus terminal in Kerala with 7.41 acres serving the buses traveling on all routes in Kerala and other inter-state destinations such as Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Nagercoil, and Kanyakumari. It is also the headquarters of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). A High-tech terminal complex was constructed by Harrisons Malayalam Limited Engineering Department, a Kerala-based construction contracting company.
The work for the new central bus terminal at Thampanoor started by March 2010 and was opened to public on 3 February 2014 by the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri. Oommen Chandy. [2]
The 12-storied complex has a floor area of 24,984 sq m is on the southern side of the KSRTC premises facing Ponnara Sreedhar Park. The project is a joint venture of the Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC) and the KSRTC, being implemented on build–operate–transfer (BOT) concept. [3] Central Bus Station Thiruvananthapuram (30,573.54 meter square / 3.25 Lakhs S.F) is the third largest Bus station after Kozhikode and Kasargode.
The Central bus station has been divided into four zones. The arrival bus bay zone consists of 5 platforms and departure bus bay zone with passenger facilities consists of 25 platforms. The bus terminal supporting facility zone consists of space for idle bus parking, repair garage, fuel-filling facility, and a commercial zone which includes shopping complex, a multiplex, and an international convention center.
Most of the floors inside the terminal are marked for commercial purposes, which include central lobby and parking facilities. Space has been provided for setting up offices and other institutions from the fourth floor. The bus operations within the terminal will be taken care by the front office on the ground floor whereas the four-storied administrative block, set up behind the terminal will cater to the administration of the Central KSRTC Depot. This High-tech terminal complex was constructed by Harrisons Malayalam Limited Engineering Department, a Kerala-based construction contracting company. The terminal can handle about 2,500 to 3,400 schedules a day. It caters to about 1240 bus arrivals and 1250 departures daily out of which 45% trips are long-distance buses and 55% the Moffusil buses (short distance, within Thiruvananthapuram district). [4] The Central bus station has been divided into four zones.
Central bus station, Thampanoor, serves as the main boarding & alighting point in Thiruvananthapuram for all the passengers travelling outside city and state. It is being managed by KSRTC, with a majority of buses catering to long distances services and short distance (Moffusil) buses.
From Central bus station, KSRTC mainly operates long-distance bus services with in Kerala state and to various district headquarters. Interstate bus services towards Chennai, Bangalore, Kanyakumari, Nagercoil from Thiruvananthapuram also starts from Central bus station only
It is proposed to shift the long-distance buses (within districts of Kerala and inter state buses) to Enchakkal bus terminal. The bus terminal is a green field project proposed to be equipped with bus infrastructure and passenger facilities.
A flyover has also been proposed from the complex to the railway station for the hassle-free movement of the commuters arriving in the buses and trains.

Pappanamcode(Abode of Mahouts) is a locality of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala, India. Only 5 km from Trivandrum central railway station and bus stand. It is one of the major industrial centres in Trivandrum.
Tirunelveli City being the district headquarters of Tirunelveli District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu has a very extensive transport network. Kannur railway station (station code: CAN) is an NSG–3 category Indian railway station in Palakkad railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is the largest railway station serving the City of Kannur in Kerala. It lies in the Shoranur–Mangalore section of the Southern Railway zone. It is the largest railway station in terms of area and number of tracks in North Malabar region. At ₹62 crore in financial year 2018–19, it is the fifth largest in terms of passenger revenues in Kerala, and second largest under Palakkad railway division. Almost all major trains connecting the other parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and North India halt here. Kannur and Kannur South are two different stations which serve Kannur city.
Eraniel Railway station is an NSG–5 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It in Eraniel is the most important railway station of Kallkkulam taluk of Kanyakumari district in the Tamil Nadu state of India. All daily trains passing through the station halts in Eraniel station. The famous Mandaikadu Bagavathi Amman Temple, Colachel Port, I.R.E Industries in Manavalakurichi and Padmanabhapuram Palace are situated nearby the station. The station also is the nearest railhead for two municipalities – Padmanabapuram, Colachel and for 25 villages.This Railway station is very useful to go work in morning time.
Thrissur railway station is an NSG–2 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a railway station in Kerala, India. Thrissur also is known as the Cultural Capital of Kerala. Thrissur railway station is a major railway head in South India and A1 classified station operated by the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways and comes under the Thiruvananthapuram railway division. It is the busiest railway station in Kerala state in terms of rail traffic with 189 halting trains. At ₹97 crore in financial year 2018–19, it is the fourth largest in terms of passenger revenues in Kerala and the eighth largest in Southern Railway. Daily trains are available to Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Mangalore, and Hyderabad. This station lies on the Shoranur–Cochin Harbour section, which is one of the busiest railway corridors in Kerala. It has three satellite stations, Punkunnam railway station and two minor stations, Ollur railway station and Mulankunnathukavu railway station. Thrissur railway station also connects to the temple town of Guruvayur by Thrissur–Guruvayur section.
Kottayam railway station is an NSG–3 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is located in Kottayam, Kerala state, India. Kottayam lies on the busy rail route between Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam. It is an NSG 3 category station. The station is served by several long-distance trains connecting most major cities in the country on a daily basis like New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Bhopal, Pune and Mangalore. Trains connecting extreme ends of india also passes through the station like Jammu tawi, Dibrugarh etc. It is one of the busiest station in Thiruvananthapuram central - Ernakulam route due to ease in accessibility of Sabarimala temple. Kottayam railway station is the halt station for passengers to Sabarimala temple, Vagamon, Kumarakom, Illickal kallu - high range, St. Alphonsa's tomb, Pala and so on. Station currently has 2 by-passing platforms -, and 3 terminal platforms. All platforms are able to accommodate locomotives with 24 coaches. Station is currently under construction of 1A Platform along with a new entrance. By completing double line from Chingavanam to Ettumanoor, southern railway has achieved its complete stretch of double rail line from Thiruvananthapuram to Mangalore
Neyyattinkara railway station is an NSG–5 category Indian railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. It is a major railway station in Kerala serving the capital Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The station serves as the southern gateway to the capital city Trivandrum. Neyyattinkara railway station is the fourth-busiest after Trivandrum North and sixth most revenue generating railway station in the district managed by the Thiruvananthapuram Division of the Southern Railways. In 2018–19 FY, Neyyattinkara generated Rs 2.32cr profit from 1.7 million passengers.
Transport in Kollam includes various modes of road, rail and water transportation in the city and its suburbs. State-owned Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses, private buses, Indian Railways, state-owned Kerala State Water Transport Department boats & ferry, taxis and auto rickshaws are serving the city of Kollam. The city had a strong commercial reputation since the days of the Phoenicians and Romans. Ibn Battuta mentioned Kollam Port as one of the five Indian ports he had seen during the course of his twenty-four year travels.
Kozhikode district has an extensive network of road, rail and air travel services. Kozhikode city is the epicenter of the district. Vatakara and Thamarassery are other transport hubs.
Kannur has a good road network connecting to Bangalore, Mangalore, Kodagu and Cochin. The railway station is also well connected to all parts of India. There is new International airport from Kannur opened on 9 December 2018, other nearest airports are at Calicut and Mangalore. Thalassery, Payyanur, Taliparamba and Iritty are the other transport hubs.
KSRTC Bus Terminal Complex Thiruvalla is a transport hub located in the Thiruvalla town in the Indian state of Kerala, owned and operated by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) under its south zone with depot code TVL. It is located near SCS Junction and is accessible via NH 183. It is one of the four BOT projects of KSRTC under KTDFC.
