Kinfra Film and Video Park is India's first Infotainment Industrial Park. [1] It is also the first SEZ in India for animation and gaming. It is situated in Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala State. The Park is a fully owned subsidiary of KINFRA, a statutory body of the Kerala Government. [2]

The Kinfra SEZ was initially notified for IT- Animation & Gaming in 2007 but recently[ when? ] KINFRA has got approval from Government of India for setting up a sector specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) IT & ITES, in a plot of 25 acres of land at KINFRA Film and Video Park.

Out of the 25 acres of land, KINFRA has constructed Drishya Building, which provides built-up space for export-oriented animation production units and IT and ITES units. KINFRA Film & Video Park has constructed a building with basic infrastructures and road access for setting up an International Animation School. The largest motion capture facility in the country, set up by Accel Animation Studios, is being harnessed to create 2-D and 3-D animation products for international clients India's only animation studio at the KINFRA film and video Park.

Vismayas Max Studio - The studio was set up in 2002 by Mohanlal.

DCSMAT School of Media and Business is situated in KINFRA Film and Video Park. [3]

Ernst & Young Global Shared Services (GSS) has set up their third centre in Kerala at the KINFRA Film & Video Park Special Economic Zone. The KINFRA Film and Video Park is located between Technopark and the proposed Technocity project in Trivandrum. [4]

Muthukad's Magic Planet is a venture established to cater for the promotion of magic based industry. It is in the process of establishing a hub for science & mirrors. This is the first ever project with 5 D theatre, Mirror Palace etc. [5]

Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA) is a government agency under the government of the Indian state of Kerala headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram. It undertakes development of industrial estates to nurture industrialization in the state. Dr. G. C. Gopala Pillai, the former CMD of FACT, Ernakulam was at its helm for the first 12 years and was instrumental in the growth of KINFRA as an industrial facilitator in the state of Kerala. It is now led by S. Ramnath, a protégé of Dr. Pillai.

SmartCity Kochi is an information technology special economic zone in Kochi, Kerala, India. A joint venture company named Smart City (Kochi) Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. was formed by Government of Kerala and Dubai Holding to implement the project. Technocity is a technology park an under construction integrated township in Trivandrum,India dedicated to electronics, software, and other information technology (IT). It was conceived in 2005 as the fourth phase of development of Technopark, Technocity is a complete IT City, spread across about 500 acres (200 hectares), which includes not just space for IT/ITES firms but also residential, commercial, hospitality, medical and educational facilities. The project is a new self-dependent satellite city, which would not strain the resources and infrastructure of the city of Thiruvananthapuram.

Radio DC is a non-commercial community radio administered by the DC School of Management and Technology (DCSMAT). It is the first private FM community radio station in Kerala. It is located in KINFRA Film and Video Park, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. It broadcasts at 90.4 MHz. All the operations in the radio station are managed by the students of DCSMAT with support from the faculty.

According to estimates, these engineering colleges and universities consistently generate about 50 per cent of the human resource requirements for the IT and ITES industry was being sourced from the state, particularly from Chennai. The total employment in the Tamil Nadu’s technology sector crossed the one million mark in the quarter ended June 2022.
