Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China of the People's Republic of China (HKSAR),can be geographically divided into three territories:Kowloon,Hong Kong Island,and the New Territories. Hong Kong is a coastal city and major port in Southern China,bordering Guangdong province through the city of Shenzhen to the north and the South China Sea to the west,east and south. Hong Kong and its 260 territorial islands and peninsulas are located at the mouth of the Pearl River Delta. The area of Hong Kong is distinct from Mainland China,but is considered part of "Greater China".
Kowloon is an urban area in Hong Kong comprising the Kowloon Peninsula and New Kowloon. With a population of 2,019,533 and a population density of 43,033/km2 in 2006,it is the most populous urban area in Hong Kong. The peninsula's area is about 47 km2 (18 sq mi).
Tai Po District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. The suburban district covers the areas of Tai Po New Town,Lam Tsuen Valley and other surrounding area,and its exclave in the northern part of the Sai Kung Peninsula. The Tai Po proper and North Sai Kung,was divided by the Tolo Channel and Tolo Harbour. The District is located in the Eastern New Territories. The de facto administrative centre of the district is Tai Po New Town.
The Sai Kung District is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong,a special administrative region of China. The district comprises the southern half of Sai Kung Peninsula,Clear Water Bay Peninsula in the New Territories and a strip of land to the east of Kowloon. Areas in the district include Sai Kung Town,Hong Kong Global Geopark,Tseung Kwan O and over 70 islands of different sizes. The administrative centre had been located in Sai Kung Town until the Sai Kung District Office was relocated to Tseung Kwan O recently. The district's population is concentrated in Tseung Kwan O,as of 2011. In 2011,the district was the third youngest district,with a median age of 39.3. Known as the "back garden of Hong Kong",Sai Kung has been able to retain its natural scenery. Many traditional customs and cultures are still retained in the rural villages.
Tseung Kwan O New Town is one of the nine new towns in Hong Kong,built mainly on reclaimed land in the northern half of Junk Bay in southeastern New Territories,after which it is named. The town/land area is usually known simply as Tseung Kwan O.
Ngau Tau Kok is an area of eastern Kowloon in Hong Kong,in the north of Kwun Tong District east to Kowloon Bay. Largely residential,Ngau Tau Kok has a population in excess of 210,000.
Shing Mun Reservoir is a reservoir in Hong Kong. It is located in Shing Mun,the area between Tsuen Wan and Sha Tin,in the New Territories.
Water supply and sanitation in Hong Kong is characterized by water import,reservoirs and treatment infrastructure. Though multiple measures were made throughout its history,providing an adequate water supply for Hong Kong has met with numerous challenges because the region has few natural lakes and rivers,inadequate groundwater sources,a high population density,and extreme seasonable variations in rainfall. Thus nearly 80 percent of water demand is met by importing water from mainland China,based on a longstanding contract. In addition,freshwater demand is curtailed by the use of seawater for toilet flushing,using a separate distribution system. Hong Kong also uses reservoirs and water treatment plants to maintain its source of clean water.
The MacLehose Trail is a 100-kilometre hiking trail that crosses much of the New Territories,Hong Kong,starting from Pak Tam Chung,Sai Kung District in the east to Tuen Mun Town,Tuen Mun District in the west. The path is marked by distance posts at 500-metre intervals. The trail is named after Murray MacLehose,Baron MacLehose of Beoch,the longest-serving governor of Hong Kong,who established the Country Parks and was himself an enthusiastic hiker. The trail passes through a variety of natural scenery including beaches and mountains.

Shek Lei Pui Reservoir is a reservoir in Kam Shan Country Park,Sha Tin,New Territories,Hong Kong. It is part of the Kowloon Group of Reservoirs. The total water storage capacity is 116 million gallons.
Kowloon Reception Reservoir,part of the Kowloon Group of Reservoirs,is a reservoir in Kam Shan Country Park,Sha Tin,New Territories,Hong Kong.
Shek Pik is an area located along the southwestern coast of Lantau Island,Hong Kong. When the Shek Pik Reservoir was built,villages at Shek Pik were demolished and the villagers were relocated to other parts of Lantau Island and to Tsuen Wan. Below the dam of the reservoir is Shek Pik Prison.
Tai Tam Intermediate Reservoir,part of the Tai Tam Reservoirs,is a reservoir in Tai Tam Country Park,Tai Tam,Hong Kong Island,Hong Kong and has a water storage capacity of 19.6 million gallons. The reservoir was completed in 1907.
Tai Tam Byewash Reservoir,part of the Tai Tam Reservoirs,is a reservoir in Tai Tam Country Park,Tai Tam,Hong Kong Island,Hong Kong and has a water storage capacity of 22.4 million gallons. The reservoir was completed in 1904.
Anderson Road is a road on the eastern border of the New Territories and New Kowloon in Hong Kong. It starts near the junction of Clear Water Bay Road and New Clear Water Bay Road,above Shun Lee Estate,then continues southeast to Tseng Lan Shue (井欄樹) and eastward through the hills above Sau Mau Ping,and finally ends at Po Lam Road (寶琳路) in Ma Yau Tong.
The Tai Tam Waterworks Heritage Trail is a heritage trail in Hong Kong that comprises 22 waterworks structures with historical value near the Tai Tam group of reservoirs. The Trail is about 5 km long and takes about two hours to complete. The Trail is located along the Tai Tam Reservoir Road with entrance at Wong Nai Chung Gap near Hong Kong Parkview or at the junction of Tai Tam Road and Tai Tam Reservoir Road. Ten information stations were established en route to introduce the functions and historic values of the structures. Guided tours will be organised for schools and non-profit making organisations.
Woh Chai Shan,a.k.a. Shek Kip Mei Hill (石硤尾山) or Bishop Hill (主教山),is a hill in Shek Kip Mei,New Kowloon,Hong Kong. It is approximately 86 metres tall.
Shap Long Reservoir,built in 1955,is a reservoir located in Chi Ma Wan Peninsula and Lantau South Country Park in Chi Ma Wan,Lantau Island,Hong Kong. The Chi Ma Wan Country Trail and the Chi Ma Wan Mountain Bike Trail pass through the reservoir. The reservoir used to be the main water source for the residents of Cheung Chau,Peng Chau and Hei Ling Chau in the Islands District before being converted into an irrigation reservoir in the 1970s.
Lau Shui Heung Reservoir,built in 1968 as part of the Plover Cove Reservoir engineering programme,is a reservoir located within the boundary of Pat Sin Leng Country Park in the eastern part of North District,New Territories,Hong Kong,located at the northeast area of Bird's Hill,at the northeast end of Sheung Shui-Fanling Plain. It covers an area of 3.5 hectares and a water storage capacity of 170,000 m3. It is responsible for collecting water from the northwestern part of Pat Sin Leng and supplying it to the Plover Cove Reservoir through a water conveyance tunnel,while Lau Shui Heung Reservoir is an irrigation reservoir used to irrigate nearby farmland. The Lau Shui Heung Country Trail passes through the reservoir. The main concrete dam is 24 m high and 54.9 m long,the secondary dam is 7.3 m high and 39 m long and the scale of the reservoir is small. The reservoir is the main source of Kwan Tei River,and the water from the reservoir flows into Kwan Tei and then the Ng Tung River.
