Lakshmi Mazumdar of Delhi was the National Commissioner of the Indian Scouting organization Bharat Scouts and Guides from November 1964 to April 1983,and supervised the construction of the Sangam World Girl Guide/Girl Scout Centre,which was inaugurated on 16 October 1966 by the World Chief Guide,Lady Olave Baden-Powell.
Mazumdar joined Guiding at a very young age in 1922. After India's independence,she held increasingly high responsibilities. In 1969 Mazumdar was awarded the Bronze Wolf ,the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement,awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting. [1]
She received the Padma Shri in 1965. [2]
Viswanathan Shanta was an Indian oncologist and the chairperson of Adyar Cancer Institute,Chennai. She is best known for her efforts towards making quality and affordable cancer treatment accessible to all patients in her country. She dedicated herself to the mission of organizing care for cancer patients,study of the disease,research on its prevention and cure,spreading awareness about the disease,and developing specialists and scientists in various subspecialties of oncology. Her work won her several awards,including the Magsaysay Award,Padma Shri,Padma Bhushan,and Padma Vibhushan,the second highest civilian award given by the Government of India.
The Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG) is the national Scouting and Guiding association of India. The national headquarters of BSG is recognised by the Government of India.
Scoutisme Béninois is the national Scouting organization of Benin. Scouting in Benin started around 1930 and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1964 under the previous name Dahomey. Its Girl Guide branch,the Guides du Bénin,is a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Harika Dronavalli is an Indian chess player who holds the FIDE title of Grandmaster (GM). She has won three bronze medals in the Women's World Chess Championship,in 2012,2015 and 2017. Harika was honored with the Arjuna Award for the year 2007–08 by the government of India. In 2016,she won the FIDE Women's Grand Prix event at Chengdu,China and rose up from world no. 11 to world no. 5 in FIDE women's ranking. In 2019,she was awarded the Padma Shri for her contributions towards the field of sports.
Mohamed Ali Hafiz of the Federation for Scouts and Girl Guides served on the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 1957 to 1963 and again from 1965 to 1971.
Mansour Mohamed El-Kikhia is a Libyan academic and politician. El-Kikhia is a former member of the Libyan National Transitional Council as a city representative for Benghazi. He is an alumnus of the University of Provence,from where he received a PhD in Population Geography with Distinction in 1986. El-Kikhia is well known in Benghazi for his role with the Public Scout and Girl Guide Movement of Libya;he was awarded the Bronze Wolf,the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1981.
Chandraprabha Saikiani or Chandraprava Saikiani was an Assamese freedom fighter,activist,writer and social reformer considered to be the pioneer of the feminist movement in Assam. She was the founder of The All Assam Pradeshik Mahila Samiti,a non governmental organization working for the welfare of the women of Assam and was a recipient of the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri for the year 1972 from the Government of India. Three decades later,the Indian government issued a commemorative stamp on Saikiani under the series,Social Reformers,in 2002.
Prabhakar Vaidya is an Indian physical educationist,academic and the honorary secretary of Hanuman Vyayam Prasarak Mandal,a century-old organization and a national institution working towards modernizing the traditional systems of Sports &Games. He was honored by the Government of India,in 2012,with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
Dorothy Dunning Chacko was an American social worker,humanitarian and medical doctor,whose efforts were reported behind the establishment of a lepers' colony at Bethany village,in Ganaur,Sonepat district in the Indian state of Haryana. She was a Hall of Famer of the County of Delaware,Pennsylvania a recipient of the Take the Lead Honour from the Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania and the Smith College Medal. She was honoured by the Government of India in 1972 with Padma Shri,the fourth highest Indian civilian award.
Raj Baveja is an Indian gynecologist,obstetrician and the former head of the department of gynecology and obstetrics at the Motilal Nehru Medical College,Allahabad. She also serves as the honorary Medical Superintendent of the Kamla Nehru Memorial Hospital,Allahabad. She hails from the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh and is the author several medical papers on adolescent gynecology,pregnancy and child birth management. She has assisted a working group on Care in Normal Birth of the World Health Organization. and headed an Indian Council of Medical Research task force on contraception in 2000. She is an elected fellow of the National Academy of Medical Sciences,and the Government of India awarded her the fourth highest Indian civilian honour of Padma Shri in 1983.
Silverine Swer (1910–2014),popularly known as Kong Sil,was an Indian social and environmental activist,educationist and civil servant. She was the first person of tribal origin to hold senior posts with the Government of Meghalaya,and was a recipient of the Silver Elephant Medal of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Award and Kaisar-i-Hind Medal. The Government of India awarded her the fourth highest civilian award of Padma Shri in 1990,making her the first recipient of the award from the state of Meghalaya.
Acharya Ramamurti was an Indian social activist,gandhian,educationist and academic. He headed the review committee of 1990,popularly known as Ramamurti Review Committee,for evaluating the progress of the National Policy on Education of 1986. He was the director of Shrambharati,a non governmental organization,engaged in community development,adhering to Gandhian ideals. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian award of the Padma Shri in 1999.
Suresh Gundu Amonkar was an Indian educationist,writer,and chairman of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. He served as the director of State Literacy Mission and Adult Education,as the Chief Commissioner of Goa State chapter of the Bharat Scouts and Guides and as the president of the Council of Boards of Secondary Education (COBSE). He translated several classics into Konkani language,including Dhammapada,Tirukkuṛaḷ,Bhagavad Gita,Gospel of John and Dnyaneshwari. He was a recipient of the Goa State Teacher's Award and the 2012 Jyanpithkar Ravindra Kelekar Award. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri,in 2009,for his contributions to Literature and Education.
Gamal Khashaba served as the President of the National Committee for Air Scouts of the Egyptian Federation for Scouts and Girl Guides as well as the General Secretary of the Arab Scout Bureau.
Samih Abdel Fattah Iskandar served as International Commissioner of the Jordanian Association for Boy Scouts and Girl Guides,as well as the Chairman of the Arab Scout Committee.

Avani Lekhara is an Indian Paralympian and rifle shooter from Rajasthan. She won the gold medal in the 10m air rifle standing event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics and defended the gold she won at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics,thus making history by winning two back-to-back golds. She also won the bronze in the 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 event at Tokyo,becoming the first Indian woman to win multiple medals at a single Paralympic Games. Lekhara is a two-time gold and one-time silver medalist at the Para Shooting World Cup.
