  1. The French Rugby League Federation initially stated that the test series had been cancelled due to the NRL not released any Lebanese players. [1] However the International Rugby League later confirmed this was false and that three key player to the Lebanon team were injured and organisers were concerned about ticket sales with star players absent. Rugby league is a team sport that is played in Serbia, which now has almost 1000 registered players nationwide, many of which are juniors. The other club Red Star Belgrade who defeated Dorćol in the deciding game to claim the minor premiership.

The seeds of rugby league in Lebanon lie in Australia. A group of Australian-born rugby league players with Lebanese heritage, mostly from inner-city Sydney formed a team with a view to entering the 2000 Rugby League World Cup. They were accepted into the qualifying tournament on the agreement that they would aim to develop rugby league within the country they represent. They subsequently went on to win the qualifying competition, earning their place by defeating Italy and Morocco of the Mediterranean group before travelling to Florida to defeat the USA, winners of the Pacific group.

The RLIF Awards are the Rugby League International Federation's annual major international sporting award for rugby league. Since 2004 the awards ceremony recognises the best referee, coach, developing nations player, international newcomer, captain and a team of the year.

The Qatar national rugby union team represents Qatar in men's international rugby union. The team plays in the West Asia division of the Asia Rugby Championship. The Qatar Rugby Federation is a full member of Asia Rugby and an associate member of World Rugby.

Because of Lebanon's geography, both summer and winter sports are engaged in in the country. During autumn and spring it is sometimes possible to engage in both activities on the same day; for example, skiing in the morning and swimming in the afternoon.

The first tournament was held in 2015 as a part of the qualification process for the 2017 Rugby League World Cup.
