He began his professional career as an actor in local television series, receiving recognition for his roles in The Condor Heroes 95 (1995), Detective Investigation Files IV (1999), and A Step into the Past (2001). After 2001, Koo shifted his focus to films and became one of the stalwarts of the Hong Kong film industry.
Raymond Lam is a Hong Kong actor and singer who is best known for roles in the television dramas A Step into the Past, Twin of Brothers, Moonlight Resonance, Highs and Lows and Line Walker and was dubbed the King of Chok after his role in The Mysteries of Love.

Paradox is a 2017 neo-noir Hong Kong action film directed by Wilson Yip, co-produced by Soi Cheang, with action direction by Sammo Hung. Written by Jill Leung and Nick Cheuk, the film stars Louis Koo as a police inspector who travels to Pattaya to search for his teenage daughter and is aided by local detectives played by Tony Jaa and Wu Yue. Along the way, he encounters the mastermind of an organ trafficking gang who colludes with a local political aide, leading to a series of hot pursuit. Paradox is the third installment of the SPL film series, following the 2005 film, SPL: Sha Po Lang and 2015's SPL II: A Time for Consequences. The film was released in China on 17 August 2017 and in Hong Kong on 25 August 2017 and has grossed US$80.84 million worldwide against a budget of US$14.5 million.
Dealer/Healer is a 2017 Hong Kong-Chinese action crime drama film directed by Lawrence Ah Mon and starring Sean Lau, Gordon Lam and Jiang Yiyan, with special appearances by Louis Koo and Zhang Jin. The film is based on the story of former Hong Kong triad member Peter Chan's recovery from drug addiction. Chan, who is portrayed in the film by Lau, served as one of the producers of the film. It was released in China on 12 May 2017 and in Hong Kong on 18 May 2017.

The White Storm 2: Drug Lords is a 2019 Hong Kong action film directed by Herman Yau, produced by and starring Andy Lau. The film is a thematic sequel in-title-only to the 2013 film The White Storm with a new storyline and stars returning cast member Louis Koo in a different role.
A Witness Out of the Blue is a 2019 Hong Kong crime thriller film produced by Derek Yee and written and directed by Andrew Fung. The film stars Louis Koo as a robber who becomes a prime suspect of a new murder case in which the only witness is a talking parrot present during the scene. A Witness Out of the Blue premiered at the Hong Kong Asian Film Festival on 18 October 2019 before it was theatrically released on 24 October 2019 in Hong Kong. The film was also shown at the International Film Festival Rotterdam from 28 January to 1 February 2020.
Back to the Past is an upcoming Hong Kong historical science fiction action film directed by Ng Yuen-fai and Jack Lai, with action direction by Sammo Hung. The film is a continuation of the 2001 television series, A Step into the Past, which was based on Huang Yi's novel, The Chronicles of Searching Qin. It stars the original cast members of the series Louis Koo, Jessica Hsuan, Raymond Lam, Sonija Kwok, Joyce Tang and Michelle Saram reprising their roles from the series. Produced by Koo's One Cool Film Production, filming for Back to the Past in April 2019 in Guizhou and wrapped up on 7 July 2019.
Once Upon a Time in Hong Kong, previously known as Money Empire and I Corrupt All Cops 2 is a 2021 Hong Kong action crime film directed by Wong Jing and Woody Hui, and starring Louis Koo, Tony Leung, Francis Ng and Gordon Lam. The film is a thematic sequel to the 2009 film I Corrupt All Cops, featuring a new storyline. Koo and Lam play ICAC investigators who battle against notorious drug lord Crippled Ho (Leung) and corrupt police detective Chui Lok (Ng). The film was released on 29 April 2021.

Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In, previously known as Kowloon Walled City, is a 2024 Hong Kong neo-noir martial arts crime action film directed by Soi Cheang, and starring Louis Koo, Sammo Hung, Richie Jen, Raymond Lam, Terrance Lau, Kenny Wong, Philip Ng, Tony Wu and German Cheung. The film was based on the novel City of Darkness by Yuyi and the manhua of the same name by Andy Seto.
