In the film, Ka-Kui helps arrest a drug lord, but must clear his own name after being accused of murder.

Police Story 2 is a 1988 Hong Kong action film starring and directed by Jackie Chan, who also wrote the screenplay with Edward Tang. It is a sequel to the hit 1985 film Police Story, continuing the storyline of Chan's character "Kevin" Chan Ka-kui, and is the second installment of Police Story series. It also marks the last appearance in the series for Lam Kwok-Hung as Chief Inspector Raymond Li, Chor Yuen as Chu Tao and Charlie Cho as John Ko.

Jackie Chan began his film career as an extra child actor in the 1962 film Big and Little Wong Tin Bar. Ten years later, he was a stuntman opposite Bruce Lee in 1972's Fist of Fury and 1973's Enter the Dragon. He then had starring roles in several kung fu films, such as 1973's Little Tiger of Canton and 1976's New Fist of Fury. His first major breakthrough was the 1978 kung fu action comedy film Snake in the Eagle's Shadow, which was shot while he was loaned to Seasonal Film Corporation under a two-picture deal. Yes, Madam is a 1985 Hong Kong action film directed by Corey Yuen, and produced by Sammo Hung, who also appears in a cameo in the film. The film stars Michelle Yeoh as Senior Inspector Ng who teams up with Inspector Carrie Morris to get a hold of microfilm which has been taken unknowingly by low level thieves Asprin and Strepsil.

In the Line of Duty, sometimes referred to as the Yes Madam series, is a series of girls with guns feature films produced by Hong Kong movie studio D & B Films which star, in the first two, Michelle Yeoh and, in subsequent installments, Cynthia Khan as a Royal Hong Kong Police Force officer who combines use of firearms with Kickboxing. The film Royal Warriors would be exported with the title In the Line of Duty and due to its success, the film Yes Madam!, released one year prior, was retitled In the Line of Duty II: The Police Assassins as an export. Due to the overwhelming financial achievement of the films under the In the Line of Duty titles, D&B would start utilizing the In the Line of Duty title in their native Hong Kong market with the third film being the first to originally use the In the Line of Duty name, which in turn would be retroactively applied to the two Michelle Yeoh vehicles. This would continue with the fourth entry before the series would revert back to individual unique titles.

The 7th Hong Kong Awards ceremony, honored the best films of 1987 and took place on 10 April 1988 at Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The ceremony was hosted by Lydia Shum and Paul Chung, during the ceremony awards are presented in 14 categories. The ceremony was sponsored by City Entertainment Magazine.

Season Ma is a Chinese actress and assistant director from Hong Kong. Ma was the 1983 winner of Best New Performer.
