<span class="mw-page-title-main">Consultative Assembly of Qatar</span>

The Consultative Assembly is the legislative body of the State of Qatar, with 45 members. Following the 2021 Qatari general election, it has 30 elected members and 15 appointed members. The body can only question the prime minister, who is appointed by the Emir of Qatar, on his policies if two-thirds of the members agree, which is unlikely given that one-third of the members are appointed by the Emir.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2010 FIFA World Cup qualification (AFC)</span> International football competition

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) section of 2010 FIFA World Cup qualification was allocated four assured qualifying berths for the final tournament in South Africa and one place in a play-off. 43 teams were in the running for these spots, while Laos, Brunei and the Philippines did not enter qualification. This was the first time Timor-Leste competed in World Cup qualification and the first time Australia attempted to qualify for the World Cup as a member of the AFC, having moved from the Oceania Football Confederation at the start of 2006. Note that this edition saw the first effective participation of Myanmar. The country, called "Burma" until 1989, was registered three times but withdrew each time before playing.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Ahmed Al Thani is a Qatari businessman. He is from the Qatari ruling family and a distant relative of Qatar's previous ruler Sheikh Hamad. He owns the Spanish Segunda Division football club Málaga CF as well as several thoroughbred racing horses.

The 2012 WAFF Championship was the 7th WAFF Championship, an international tournament for member nations of the West Asian Football Federation. It was hosted by Kuwait from 8 to 20 December 2012. The defending champions were Kuwait. However, they did not get past the group stage. The tournament was won by Syria for the first time.

Al Rayyan Basketball Team is a Qatari professional basketball team based in Omm Alafai in the city of Al-Rayyan, Qatar. Al Rayyan is one of the most successful basketball clubs in Qatar, with many domestic and international titles to its name. It is part of the Al Rayyan Sports Club.

The 2014 AFC U-19 Championship was the 38th edition of the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for players aged 19 and below. Myanmar were approved as hosts of the competition on 25 April 2013. The tournament was held from 9 to 23 October 2014, with the top four teams qualifying for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The 2013 GCC U-23 Championship was the fifth edition of the GCC U-23 Championship. It took place in Riffa, Bahrain for the first time. Six nations took part. The competition was held in Riffa from 15 to 26 August. The hosts Bahrain won their first title after defeating title holders Saudi Arabia 1–0 in the final.

The Gulf Cooperation Council Athletics Championship is a biennial international athletics competition between athletes from nations within the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. It was first held in 1986.

The 2015 GCC U-23 Championship was the sixth edition of the GCC U-23 Championship. It took place in Bahrain for the second time. Six nations took part. The competition was held in Riffa from 16 to 29 January. Saudi Arabia won their third title after defeating Kuwait 5–2 in the final.

Ali Mohammed Jasimi is a Qatari professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Qatari club Al-Sailiya. He is mostly known for his passing style of play, especially his crosses, which he uses to provide width for his respective team. He is seen as one of the best passers in the league.

The 24th Arabian Gulf Cup was the 24th edition of the biennial football competition for the eight members of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation. Eight teams participated in the tournament.

The 2019–20 Arab Club Champions Cup knockout stage began on 20 August 2019 and ended on 21 August 2021 with the final at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco, to decide the champions of the 2019–20 Arab Club Champions Cup. A total of 32 teams competed in the knockout stage.

The third round of AFC matches for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification was played from 2 September 2021 to 29 March 2022.

The 2021 Four Nations Football Tournament, alternatively known as the Mahinda Rajapaksa Cup, was an international association football friendly tournament organised by Football Sri Lanka (FSL). It's took place from 9 to 19 November 2021 at the Colombo Racecourse in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

The 2022 WAFF U-23 Championship was the third edition of the WAFF U-23 Championship the biennial international age-restricted football championship organized by the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) for the men's under-23 national teams of West Asia. A total of six teams competed in the tournament.
