Stan is an Australian subscription video streaming service owned by Nine Entertainment Co. Initially a joint venture between Nine Entertainment Co. and Fairfax Media, Stan launched on 26 January 2015. [1] Nine Entertainment acquired Fairfax Media in 2018, making Stan a wholly owned subsidiary of Nine Digital. Stan announced its first commissioned series, No Activity, on 1 May 2015, which later premiered on 22 October 2015. [2]

The story is set in the fictitious town of Riversend in New South Wales during a period of intense drought, and revolves around a small-town priest who kills five of his parishioners before being shot himself, and a journalist's investigation into his motivations. The novel is a crime thriller told in third person present tense.

Set in and around an inner city high school, the series centres around Oly, an ambitious and high-achieving teenage girl who has a surprise baby and the complications that ensue for two families. The ten-part first series was produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond.

<i>Bad Behaviour</i> (TV series) 2023 Australian drama series

Bad Behaviour is an Australian four-part television drama miniseries on Stan streaming service. The series, based on the book of the same name by Rebecca Starford, is written by Pip Karmel and Magda Wozniak, directed by Corrie Chen, and produced by Amanda Higgs.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is an upcoming historical drama television series based on the book of the same name by Heather Morris. The cast includes Harvey Keitel, Melanie Lynskey, Jonah Hauer-King, and Anna Próchniak.

Population 11 is a comedy drama television series that premiered on the Australian streaming service Stan on 14 March 2024. Created by Phil Lloyd and starring Ben Feldman, it is inspired by the 2017 disappearance of Paddy Moriarty in the Northern Territory; it centres on Feldman's character attempting to solve the disappearance of his estranged father from a small town in the Australian outback home to only a dozen residents, who all end up as suspects.
