Fijian law defines "towns" as urbanized areas incorporated as municipal bodies, governed by Town Councils.
The following localities are urbanized, but have not been municipally organized. They are urban areas for statistical purposes.
Suva is the capital and the most populous city of Fiji. It is the home of the country's largest metropolitan area and serves as its major port. The city is located on the southeast coast of the island of Viti Levu, in Rewa Province, Central Division.

Lautoka is the third largest metropolitan area in Fiji. It is on the west coast of the island of Viti Levu, in the Ba Province of the Western Division. Lying in the heart of Fiji's sugar cane-growing region, the city has come to be known as the Sugar City. Covering an area of 32 square kilometres, it had a population of 71,573 at the 2017 census, the most recent to date.

Local elections in Fiji are held for two cities and ten towns. Each city or town has a council comprising between 8 and 20 members, elected for three-year terms, although the government announced legislation on 15 February 2006 to extend the term to four years. Each city or town council elects from among its own members a Mayor for one year. Consecutive terms are permitted.
Local elections were held in Fiji on 22 October 2005 to elect the councils of eleven municipalities. In Suva, the elections for the Suva City Council were postponed until 12 November due to the death of two candidates; the death of a candidate in Lautoka also resulted in the poll postponement in one of the four wards.
Nausori is a town in Fiji. It had a population of 57,866 at the 2017 census. This makes it the fourth most populous municipality in the country. Situated 19 kilometers from the Fijian capital Suva, it forms one pole of the burgeoning Suva-Nausori corridor. Nausori is home to three provinces Rewa, Tailevu and Naitasiri.
Lami, is an urban area in Rewa Province, Fiji, north-west of the capital Suva. It was formally incorporated as a town in 1977, and had a population of 20,529 at the most recent census in 2007. The municipal boundaries enclose an area of 683 square kilometers.
Nasinu is an urban area on the island Viti Levu in Fiji. It is officially designated a "Town" and was formally incorporated as such in 1999. The population of Nasinu was 92,043 at the 2017 Census. Its land area is the largest of any municipal area in Fiji, and more than twice that of the capital Suva. It is a major residential hub in Fiji, housing a large majority of the work force in Nasinu itself and in the Fijian capital, Suva. The Nasinu property market has experienced significant growth over the last several years, leading to substantial increases in property value.
Tailevu is one of the 14 provinces of Fiji. Its main town is Nausori, which lies along the banks of the Rewa River.
The Fiji Football Association is the governing body of football in Fiji. It came into existence in 1961. It is the overseeing body of the Fiji National Team and its leagues.
Nausori International Airport, also known as Luvuluvu, is the secondary international airport in Fiji, behind Nadi International Airport. It is situated in Nausori on the southeastern side of Viti Levu. Nausori Airport is roughly 23 km (14 mi) from Fiji's capital city, Suva. It was first constructed by U.S. Navy Seabees in 1942.
Rewa Football Club is a Fijian semi-professional football club based in Nausori, playing in the National Football League. Rewa's home ground is Foodcity Ratu Cakobau Park
Suva Football Club is a Fijian football club that competes in the Fiji Premier League, the top flight of professional Fijian football. The club is based in Suva. Their home stadium is ANZ National Stadium.
Nasinu F.C. is a Fijian football team playing in the first division of the Fiji Football Association competitions. It is based in Nasinu, which is situated on the eastern side of the main island of Viti Levu, between the town of Nausori and the city of Suva. Their home stadium is Rishikul College Grounds. Their uniform is blue shirt, maroon shorts and blue socks. The club lost to Savusavu F.C in promotion and relegation 2010.
The South Pacific Games football tournament for men at the XII Games was held in Fiji, from 30 June to 11 July 2003.
Nakasi is a suburb located along the Suva-Nausori corridor, in the Central Division of the Republic of Fiji. The 9½ miles factor is also used to identify the locality as it denotes the distance from Suva as it forms the common identification of the suburbs along the Kings Highway from Suva to Nausori. Nakasi is located 15 km north-east of Suva city and 5 km south of Nausori. It falls under the jurisdiction of the local government area of the township of Nausori. Nakasi is one of the largest of the many suburbs along the Suva-Nausori corridor. The current population stands at 18,919.
The sport of football in the country of Fiji is run by the Fiji Football Association. The association administers the national football team as well as the FPL. The national team has had little international success.
The 2003 Pacific Games women's football tournament was the inaugural edition of Pacific Games women's football tournament. The competition was held in Fiji from 30 June to 10 July 2003.
