Sage College of Albany, SCA for short, was located at 140 New Scotland Avenue, Albany, New York, 12208. Along with Russell Sage College and the Sage Graduate School, it was one of the three colleges that made up The Sage Colleges. It was also home to Sage After Work, which offers a variety of bachelor's degrees in a format designed specifically for adult learners. It offered bachelor's degrees, with the largest programs being Visual Arts, Management and the interdisciplinary Law & Society. SCA students often took courses on the Russell Sage College campus in Troy, New York, or accelerated into one of the master's programs in the Sage Graduate School. 850 students were enrolled at SCA, and it shared approximately 150 faculty members with the other Sage colleges. About 66% of the student body were female. Since 2020, the former SCA is now Russell Sage's Albany campus.

Albany Medical Center (AMC) is the name of the umbrella organization over the Albany Medical Center Hospital and Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. Though the name Albany Medical Center referring to the two institutions on their shared campus has been used for over a century, the two institutions were independent until the formation of the formal Albany Medical Center in 1982. AMC awards the Albany Medical Center Prize, the second-highest value prize in medicine and biomedical research in the United States, annually. Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is a private, independent college with campuses in Albany, New York and Colchester, Vermont. ACPHS was named the #1 Value-Added college or university in the country in the 2019 rankings published by The Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education. According to the 2018 College Scorecard, the median salary of ACPHS students ten years after entering school is $124,700, the second highest figure among the 3,871 schools that make up the College Scorecard database. As of 2015, it was tied as the 58th-ranked pharmacy school in the US.
