In the ANC caucus, former members included Thuliswa Nkabinde-Khawe (died November 2019), [2] Kgosientso Ramokgopa (resigned November 2019), [3] Mapiti Matsena (died July 2020), [4] Dumisani Dakile (sworn in June 2019, resigned November 2020), [5] [6] Lindiwe Lasindwa (died August 2021), [7] former Premier David Makhura (resigned October 2022), [8] and Petrus Mabunda (resigned February 2023). [9] [ self-published source ] Parks Tau was elected to a seat in May 2019 but left to join the national government shortly after the beginning of the legislative term; [10] he returned to the provincial legislature in November 2020, but resigned again in February 2023. [6] [11] In addition to Dakile and Tau, other midterm additions to the legislature included Thulani Ndlovu (from November 2019, replacing Nkabinde-Khawe); [12] [ self-published source ] Greg Schneemann (from August 2020); [13] [ self-published source ] Maphefo Mogale-Letsie (September 2021); [14] and Tshilidzi Munyai and Matshidiso Mfikoe, who replaced Mabunda and Tau (February 2023). In the DA caucus, former members included John Moodey (resigned September 2020) [15] and Michael Shackleton (resigned April 2022), [16] both of whom defected to ActionSA.

Mpho Franklyn Parks Tau is a South African politician who has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since February 2023, representing the African National Congress. Before becoming a member of Parliament, Tau had been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature where he served in the Gauteng Executive Council as MEC for Economic Development from December 2020 to October 2022. Prior to that, he was Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs between May 2019 and December 2020.

Ntombi Lentheng Mekgwe is a South African politician who has been Speaker of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2014. Before that, she was a Member of the Executive Council (MEC) in the Gauteng provincial government from 2010 to 2014 and the third Mayor of Ekurhuleni from 2008 to 2010. She is a member of the African National Congress (ANC).

Thuliswa Winlove Nkabinde-Khawe was a South African politician and a party member of the African National Congress (ANC). She was elected a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in May 2009 and was a long-serving member of the Social Development committee in the legislature, prior to her appointment as Gauteng MEC for Social Development in May 2019. She was an MEC until her death just over five months later.

John Clifford Moodey is a South African politician who served as the Provincial Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng from 2007 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2020. Moodey was a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2004 to 2020 and served as Leader of the Opposition from 2014 to 2019. He was the party's Shadow MEC for Community Safety.

Audrey Winifred Morakane Ketlhoilwe Mosupyoe, known as Morakane Mosupyoe, is a South African politician serving as the Gauteng Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation since October 2022. She was the MEC for Economic Development, Agriculture and Environment from October 2019 to December 2020 as well as well as the Gauteng MEC for Social Development from December 2020 until October 2022. Prior to her election to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2019, she served as a Tshwane city councillor. Mosupyoe is a member of the African National Congress.

Mbali Dawn Hlophe is a South African politician. She has served as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Social Development, Agriculture and Rural Development in Gauteng since October 2022. She had previously served as the MEC for Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation from May 2019 to October 2022. A member of the African National Congress, she has been a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since May 2019.

Nomathemba Emily Mokgethi is a South African politician who served as the Gauteng Health MEC from 2020 to 2022 and has been a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2018. She was the provincial MEC for Social Development between June and December 2020. Mokgethi is a member of the African National Congress.

Mzikayifane Elias Khumalo is a South African African National Congress politician who has been the Gauteng MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, eGovernment and Research and Development since 2022 and a member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since 2019. He served as the chief whip of majority party in the provincial legislature from May 2019 until October 2022. Previously, he served as the Executive Mayor of the Randfontein Local Municipality from 2015 to 2016 and as the Executive Mayor of the Rand West City Local Municipality from 2016 to 2019.

Kaobitsa Abel Bushy Maape is a South African politician and anti-apartheid activist who has been the 7th Premier of the North West and a member of the North West Provincial Legislature since September 2021. Maape is a member of the African National Congress and a former Robben Island prisoner.

Kedibone Pauline Diale is a South African politician. She was elected to the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 2019 as a member of the African National Congress. In October 2022, she was appointed the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for Transport and Logistics in Gauteng.

The Executive Council of Gauteng is the cabinet of the executive branch of the provincial government in the South African province of Gauteng. The Members of the Executive Council (MECs) are appointed from among the members of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature by the Premier of Gauteng, an office held since October 2022 by Panyaza Lesufi.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kgosientso Ramokgopa</span> South African politician

Kgosientsho or Kgosientso "Sputla" Ramokgopa is a South African politician who was the Mayor of Tshwane from 2010 to 2016. He was also a Member of the Executive Council in the Gauteng provincial government in 2019 and currently works in the Presidency of South Africa.

Humphrey Mmemezi is a South African politician and civil servant who was a Member of the National Assembly between 2014 and 2019 and served as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Works from 2017. He was formerly a Member of the Executive Council for Local Government and Housing in the Gauteng provincial government from 2010 to 2012. He resigned from the provincial government in July 2012 when he was found guilty of contravening the legislature's code of conduct and ethics, including in using his government credit card for personal expenses.

Jacob Khawe is a South African politician who was the Provincial Secretary of the African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng from 2018 to 2022. He was formerly the Mayor of Emfuleni Local Municipality from 2017 to 2018 and before that he represented the ANC in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature.

Mapiti David Matsena was a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from May 2019 until July 2020, when he was murdered by a former employee. A lawyer by training, Matsena rose to political prominence through the ANC Youth League. From 2011 to 2018, he was the Deputy Regional Chairperson of the ANC in Tshwane, where he was also a local councillor. He was a member of the ANC's Provincial Executive Committee in Gauteng from 2018 until his death.

Gregory David Schneemann is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since August 2020. He formerly served in the national Parliament from 1994 to 2014. In 2022, he was elected to a five-year term as a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC's Gauteng branch.

Thulani Ndlovu is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since November 2019. An ANC Youth League activist, he has also been a member of the ANC's Provincial Executive Committee in Gauteng since 2022.

Andrias Dumisani Dakile is a South African politician and trade unionist who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from June 2019 until his resignation in December 2020. He is also a former Provincial Secretary of the Gauteng branch of the Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu).

Petrus Butana Mabunda is a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature from 2019 until his resignation in February 2023. He was elected to the seat in the 2019 general election, ranked 21st on the ANC's provincial party list. He resigned at the beginning of February 2023 and his seat was filled by Tshilidzi Munyai.
