Wooden buildings that have exceptional heights are listed in this article, starting with the highest wooden structures.
The tallest recorded wooden structure was the tower of Mühlacker radio transmitter (190 metres or 620 feet, destroyed in 1945). According to some sources, [1] wooden radio masts with heights of up to 220 metres or 720 feet have been realized in Russia, but data verifying the location and chronology of these structures is not readily available. The tallest standing wooden structure as of now is the Gliwice Radio Tower (111 m or 364 ft), located in Gliwice, Poland.

A skyscraper is a tall continuously habitable building having multiple floors. Modern sources define skyscrapers as being at least 100 meters (330 ft) or 150 meters (490 ft) in height, though there is no universally accepted definition, other than being very tall high-rise buildings. Historically, the term first referred to buildings with between 10 and 20 stories when these types of buildings began to be constructed in the 1880s. Skyscrapers may host offices, hotels, residential spaces, and retail spaces.
Stadthaus is a nine-storey residential building in Hackney, London. At nine stories, it is thought to be the second tallest timber residential structure in the world, after the Forte apartment complex in Melbourne, Australia. It was designed in collaboration between architects Waugh Thistleton, structural engineers Techniker, and timber panel manufacturer KLH.
Alison Brooks, is a Canadian-British architect. She is the founder and creative director of Alison Brooks Architects, based in London. Her awards include the RIBA Stirling Prize, Manser Medal, Stephen Lawrence Prize, and RIBA House of the Year.
Crown Sydney is a skyscraper in Barangaroo, New South Wales, Australia. Designed by WilkinsonEyre, it stands at a height of 271.3 m (890 ft) with 75 floors, making it the tallest building in Sydney and 4th tallest building in Australia. It was developed by Crown Resorts, primarily comprising a hotel and residential apartments, while a casino and other hospitality venues make up the rest of its floorspace. Construction first began in October 2016, before topping out in March 2020. The tower was inaugurated to the public in December 2020.
NEMA (Chicago) (also 1210 South Indiana and formerly 113 East Roosevelt or One Grant Park) is a 76-story residential skyscraper in Chicago, Illinois in the Central Station neighborhood, of the Near South Side. The tower, built by developer Crescent Heights, has 800 apartments and rises 896 feet (273.1 m) making it the city's tallest rental apartment building. NEMA is the tenth-tallest building in Chicago as of 2024 and the forty first-tallest building in the United States. It is the tallest all-rental residential building in the city.

The W350 Project is a proposed wooden skyscraper in central Tokyo, Japan, announced in 2018. The skyscraper is set to reach a height of 350 meters with 70 floors, which upon its completion will make it the tallest wooden skyscraper, as well as Japan's tallest building. The skyscraper is set to be a mixed-used building including residential, office and retail space.
Azabudai Hills is a complex of three skyscrapers in Tokyo, Japan. Upon its completion in 2023, the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower in the development became the tallest building in Tokyo and Japan.
Ascent MKE is a mass timber hybrid high-rise apartment building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The 284-foot, 25-story high-rise is the world's tallest mass timber structure, edging out Norway's Mjøstårnet. It features 259 luxury apartments, retail space, an elevated pool with operable window walls, and a sky-deck.
Tirana's Rock is a mixed-use skyscraper in Tirana, Albania. Designed by MVRDV, the tower will stand at its completion at 85 meters (297 ft) high divided into 25 floors, and will include residential, commercial, and office spaces. The construction will also be among the world's largest buildings that double as a figurative sculpture. In its case, it will represent the bust of Gjergj Kastrioti, one of Albania's Middle Ages main historical figures.
