Live Session! is a live album by jazz saxophonist Cannonball Adderley recorded at Memory Lane, Los Angeles in 1962 and the Lighthouse, Hermosa Beach in 1964 and released on the Capitol label featuring performances by Adderley with Nat Adderley, Joe Zawinul, Sam Jones and Louis Hayes and vocalist Ernie Andrews. The Allmusic review by Ronnie D. Lankford Jr. awarded the album 4 stars and states "The material cuts a wide swath across non-jazz genres, from the bluesy "Next Time I See You" to the popular "Since I Fell for You" to the fun nonsense of "Green Door." Although the instrumental work takes a back seat to the vocals, both Cannonball and Nat Adderley find room to offer pithy solos that spice up the proceedings. The accompaniment is an active one, too, with intricate piano and horns highlighting and underlining Andrews as needed". [3] The Penguin Guide to Jazz awarded the album 3 stars stating "Live Session actually comes from gigs two years apart, and were meant to launch the singing voice of Andrews as much as Adderley. He sounds fine but the band takes a back seat to the singer and for Cannonball fans this one's secondary". [4]

The Price You Got to Pay to Be Free is an album by the Cannonball Adderley Quintet recorded, in part, at the 1970 Monterey Jazz Festival. A portion of the performance is memorialized in the 1971 Clint Eastwood movie Play Misty For Me. Additional "live in-studio" tracks were recorded the following month at the Capitol Records Tower, in Hollywood, to stretch the Monterey material into a double album. Louis Hayes is the eponymous debut album by American jazz drummer Louis Hayes recorded in 1960 for Vee-Jay Records. The personnel includes the Cannonball Adderley's 1960 Quintet with Yusef Lateef in place of the leader. The album was also re-released in 1974 under Lateef's name as Contemplation.
Back Door Blues is an album by the American saxophonist/vocalist Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson with the Cannonball Adderley Quintet recorded in Chicago in late 1961 and New York in early 1962 and released by the Riverside label. The album was partially rereleased with additional recordings and alternate takes as Cleanhead & Cannonball on CD by Landmark Records in 1988 and the complete recordings issued on Fresh Sound in 2013.
