The Phocine is a ferry owned by Dart 3 Ltd and currently in service with Seatruck Ferries.

History

Phocine was completed in 1984 as Balder Sten, owned by K/S A/S Balder RO/RO No 2. She was sold to Navrom and renamed Bazias 3 in 1985 and operated by them until 1991 when she was chartered to Sally Line, being renamed Sally Euroroute in 1993 [1] and used on the RamsgateOstend route. [2] In 1996 she was sold to Jacobs Holdings (Dart Line) [1] who used her on the DartfordVlissingen and Dartford–Zeebrugge routes, [2] renamed Merle and chartered to Belfast Freight Ferries until 2000, when she was renamed Dart 3 and operated by Dart Line. At some point she was sold to Bid Corp Shipping.

She was chartered to Norse Merchant Ferries in 2000 [1] and used on the BelfastHeysham route, returning to Dart Line in 2001. As well as her former routes with Dart Line, she was also used on the Dartford–Dunquerque route. [3] In 2006 she was sold to Dart 3 Ltd and renamed Phocine on charter to Cobelfret Ferries, [1] being used on the North Killingholme Haven–Zeebrugge route. [3] In 2007 she was on charter to the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company, returning to Cobelfret later in the year [1] being used on the Ostend–Purfleet and Killingholme–Ostend routes. [4] In 2008 she was chartered by Seatruck Ferries [1] to replace Riverdance, Phocine was herself due to be replaced by Clipper Point when that vessel entered service with Seatruck. [5]

MS Seatruck Pace is a ro-ro ferry operated by Seatruck Ferries. Built by Spanish shipyard Astilleros de Huelva, Seatruck Pace entered service In March 2009 on the Liverpool - Dublin route, named Clipper Pace.

Built by Spanish shipyard Astilleros de Huelva in 1997 as Lehola for Estonian Shipping Co Ltd she has served a number of owners and operators as RR Triumph and Triumph before her sale to Clipper Group and being renamed Clipper Racer. In 2011, she was chartered to Northlink Ferries and renamed Helliar.

MS <i>Arrow</i> Ro-Ro ferry built in 1998

MS Arrow is a 7,606 GT Ro-Ro ferry built by Astilleros de Huelva SA, Huelva, Spain in 1998 as Varbola for the Estonian Shipping Company, Tallinn. During a charter to Dart Line she was renamed Dart 6, reverting to Varbola when the charter ended. In 2005, she was sold to Malta and renamed RR Arrow. In 2007, she was sold to Seatruck Ferries, Heysham and renamed Arrow. On 28 April 2014 Arrow began operating for the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company on a three-year charter. During the summer of 2014, while not required in Steam Packet Company service, the vessel was temporarily sub-chartered to operate between Jersey and Portsmouth (England). She resumed services in the Irish sea in the winter.

MS <i>Hildasay</i> ferry

Hildasay is a 7,606 GT Ro-Ro ferry which was built by Astilleros de Huelva SA, Huelva, Spain in 1999 as Leili for the Estonian Shipping Company, Tallinn. During a charter to Crowley Maritime she was renamed Port Everglades Express, reverting to Leili when the charter ended. In 2005, she was sold to Greece and renamed RR Shield. In 2008, she was sold to Seatruck Ferries, Heysham and renamed Shield. In January 2010 she was chartered to NorthLink Ferries and renamed Hildasay. In 2019 she was bought by the Scottish government.

MV <i>Muirneag</i> cargo ferry

MV Muirneag is a ro-ro freight ferry, built in 1979 as MV Mercandian Carrier. From 1986 to 2002, she was named MV Belard, serving initially across the Irish Sea.
