Madhya Nepal Municipality is one of the local level of Lamjung District out of 8 local levels. It has 10 wards and according to 2011 Nepal census, 23,385 people live in here. It has 113.86 square km area. Its center is in the office of previous Karaputar Municipality. Sundarbazar Municipality is in the east, Kaski district is in the west, Kwhlosothar Rural Municipality and Besisahar Municipality are in the north and Tanahun District is in the south of Madhya Nepal Municipality. Previous Madhya Nepal Municipality (all wards), previous Karaputar Municipality (all wards) and previous Neta V.D.C. (all wards) are included in this newly made municipality.
Karaputar was a municipality of Lamjung District in Gandaki Zone of central Nepal. The municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Bangre, Bhorletar, Isaneshwor and Karapu village development committees (VDCs). The center of the municipality was establish in former VDC Office of Karapu Bazaar. After merging the four VDCs population it had a total population of 10,836 according to 2011 Nepal census. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal. This municipality finally merged with Madhyanepal municipality on 10 March 2017. Madhyanepal established the same day with part of Karaputar municipality.
A municipality in Nepal is an administrative division in the Provinces of Nepal. The urban population of Nepal refers to the inhabitants residing in the designated municipal area. Population size has been taken as the principal criteria in the declaration of urban areas in Nepal since 1961. Municipalities can therefore also include rural areas. It functions as a sub-unit of a district. Nepal currently has 293 municipalities, which given the 2011 population estimate of 16,656,057.
Besisahar Municipality is one of the local level of Lamjung District out of 8 local levels. It has 11 wards and according to 2011 Nepal census, 39,356 people live in here. It has 127.64 square km area. Its center is in the office of previous Besisahar Municipality. Dordi Rural Municipality is in the east, Kwhlosothar Rural Municipality and Madhya Nepal Municipality are in the west, Marsyandi Rural Municipality is in the north and Sundarbazar Municipality is in the south of Besisahar Municipality. Previous Besisahar Municipality, previous Baglungpani V.D.C., previous Bajhakhet V.D.C., previous Hiletaksar V.D.C. and previous Chiti V.D.C are included in this newly made municipality. Besisahar is also the headquarter of Lamjung District.
Kwhlosothar Rural Municipality is one of the local level of Lamjung District out of 8 local levels. It has 9 wards and according to 2011 Nepal census, 10,032 people live there. It has 175.37 square kilometres (67.71 sq mi) area. Its center is in the office of previous Maling V.D.C. Besisahar Municipality; Marsyandi Rural Municipality are in the east, Kaski District is in the west, Kaski District and Marsyandi Rural Municipality are in the north and Madhya Nepal Municipality and Besisahar Municipality are in the south of Kwhlosothar Rural Municipality.
Previous Baglungpani V.D.C., previous Maling V.D.C., previous Uttarkanya V.D.C., previous Bhujung V.D.C., previous Pasagaun V.D.C, previous Bhoje V.D.C and previous Gilung V.D.C. are included in this newly made rural municipality.
Sundarbazar Municipality is one of eight municipalities in Lamjung District, Nepal. It has 11 wards and, according to the 2011 census, a population of 26,861. Sundarbazar Municipality is 72.05 km2 (27.82 sq mi) in area, and its administrative center is in the office of the previous Sundarbazar Municipality. Dordi Rural Municipality and Rainas Municipality are to the east, Madhya Nepal Municipality is to the west, Besisahar Municipality is to the north and Rainas Municipality and Tanahun District are to the south of Sundarbazar Municipality. The newly-redrawn version of Sundarbazar Municipality includes the old versions of Chandreshwor V.D.C., Duradanda V.D.C., Dhuseni V.D.C. and Sindure V.D.C.
Gaunpalika is the an administrative division in Nepal. The Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development (Nepal) dissolved the existing village development committees and announced the establishment of this new local body. It is a sub-unit of a district. There are currently 460 rural municipalities.
