Mega Man Star Force Legacy Collection [a] is an upcoming video game compilation based on Capcom's Mega Man series. It compiles emulated versions of all three entries in the Mega Man Star Force series, originally released for the Nintendo DS between 2006 and 2008. Like other Mega Man Legacy Collection entries, it also includes various enhancements and behind-the-scenes materials. The compilation is scheduled for a 2026 release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows.

Overview

Star Force Legacy Collection adapts the games' original dual-screen format for single-screen gameplay, with players able to adjust the screen layout and toggle a smoothing filter. [3] [4] [5] New difficulty and assist options have been added to aid players, such as an auto-save function, adjustable enemy encounter rates, and the ability to greatly increase the strength of Mega Man's buster, similar to "Buster MAX" mode in Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection . [1] [4] Players can trade cards online and battle one other in ranked or casual matches, though cross-platform play is not supported. [4] [6] [7] Up to 100 players can be registered to an in-game friends list, based on the series' "Brother Band" system. [4] [8] In addition, players can access "bonus cards" which could only be obtained through special means in the original games, such as events and toys. [4] An art gallery and music player are also included. [6] All three games' soundtracks have been fully updated with new music arrangements, and the original and new soundtracks can be listened to in the music player or enabled during gameplay. [1] Like Battle Network Legacy Collection, the main menu features an interactive Mega Man that reacts to the player's choices. [1]

Each of the Star Force games were originally released in multiple versions, all of which are included in Star Force Legacy Collection, for a total of seven games. [9]

Release

Capcom first announced Star Force Legacy Collection on September 12, 2025, during a Japanese Nintendo Direct broadcast. [6] The collection is set to be released on March 27, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, making it the first Legacy Collection to be ported to the latter two consoles. [2] [7] Players who pre-order the game will receive four additional music arrangements, as well as Geo Stelar and Omega-Xis as alternate menu navigators. [10] To promote the collection, Capcom briefly re-released the Mega Man Star Force anime through their video streaming channels. [11]
