Miss Earth Liberia is the official title given to Liberia's delegate to the Miss Earth pageant. The pageant focuses mainly on promoting environmental causes and winners are chosen equally on their physical attributes as well as their understanding and knowledge of the issues affecting the earth.

History

In 2005, the Miss Earth Liberia franchise was obtained by Beauties of Africa Inc., owned by Mr. Andy A. Abulime. However, the first year Liberia sent a representative to Miss Earth was in 2006 with Rachel Bidmia Njinimbam as the first Miss Earth Liberia titleholder and competed in Miss Earth 2006. [1]

In 2008, Liberia was represented at Miss Earth 2008 by Marit Woods. [2] [3]

In 2018, Wokie Dolo, former Miss World Liberia 2017 and owner of La Queen Entertainment serves as the national director. [4] [5] The pageant was formed in partnership with The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA); winner automatically becomes the ambassador of the EPA. [6] [7]

The 2020 pageant that was due to be held in March 2020, was postponed to September due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [8] [9]

In September 2020, the President of Liberia, George Weah congratulated the winners of Miss Earth Liberia 2020 for promoting the country's tourism industry as part of the United Nations World Tourism Organization's World Tourism Day. [10] [11] The Liberian President also recorded a song, “Da who will win” dedicated to the contestants of Miss Earth Liberia pageant. [12] [13]

George Tawlon Manneh Oppong Ousman Weah is a Liberian politician and former professional footballer who served as the 25th president of Liberia from 2018 to 2024. The second Miss Bhutan was held in 2010 where Sonam Choden Retty was the winner and held the title for the longest period (2010-2021). The third edition of Miss Bhutan was held only after a decade, Tashi Choden took the title and is now the reigning queen. She is the first one in the country to represent in the Miss Universe.

Miss Earth Canada is a beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environmental-friendly woman in Canada. It is the official preliminary to the Miss Earth pageant. The winners are chosen based on physical attributes and skills in speaking in public on environmental matters.

Miss Earth Japan is a beauty pageant held annually in Japan. The titleholder represents Japan in the international Miss Earth pageant.

Miss Philippines Earth 2009 was the 9th Miss Philippines Earth pageant, held at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan, Philippines, on May 10, 2009.

Miss Earth Guam is a national beauty pageant held annually in search of the most beautiful and environmental-friendly woman in the United States territory of Guam. It is one of the official preliminaries to the international Miss Earth beauty pageant. Daniela Alejandra Stucan is an Argentine fashion model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned as Miss Earth Argentina 2001. She competed in the first edition of the international Miss Earth 2001 beauty pageant produced by Carousel Productions. She won the title of Miss Fire 2001.

Miss Earth Nigeria is a national beauty pageant in Nigeria to select its representative to the international Miss Earth pageant. The pageant, with the theme "Beauties for a Cause" is organized by AMC Productions, and began sending representatives to Miss Earth a year after the international pageant was established in 2001. Nigeria has achieved seven placements in Miss Earth.

Miss Earth Ecuador is one of the official preliminaries to the international Miss Earth beauty pageant, which was established in the Philippines in 2001. Miss Earth Indonesia is a discontinued beauty pageant from Indonesia that selected Indonesian representative in the Miss Earth pageant. The Miss Earth Indonesia competition was abolished in 2021 because of El John Pageant lost the franchise of Miss Earth and rebranded the pageant with Putri Bumi Indonesia. From 2022, the licenseholder of Miss Earth pageant is PT. Mahakarya Duta Pesona Indonesia and make a new pageant named Putri Nusantara which Miss Earth Indonesia is selected as one of the winner from that pageant.

Miss Earth Jamaica is an annual national beauty pageant to select a delegate to represent Jamaica at the international Miss Earth pageant. The current Miss Earth Jamaica is Catherine Harris who was crowned on September 23, 2020.
