Miss Earth 2002, the 2nd edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held at Folk Arts Theater in Pasay, Philippines on October 20, 2002. [1] [2] In its second year, 53 delegates participated, exceeding the number of contestants in Miss International 2002, thereby becoming the world's third biggest international pageant in terms of number of contestants. Džejla Glavović of Bosnia & Herzegovina won the title that year, also receiving Miss Talent. [5] [6] However, on May 28, 2003, the Miss Earth Foundation officially dethroned her "due to her failure to comply with the stipulations in her contract." Miss Air from Kenya, Winfred Omwakwe, took over the position of Miss Earth 2002. [7] [8] Omwakwe was formally crowned as the new Miss Earth 2002 on August 7, 2003 at the Carousel Gardens in Mandaluyong, Philippines. [9] [10]

Christina Sawaya is a Lebanese Singer, Actress & TV Host she started her career as Master of Ceremony for big events & participated in a series of pageants between 1998 and 2002 in which she became the winner of Miss Universities Lebanon in 1998, and was chosen as "Top Model of Lebanon 1999".

Winfred Adah Omwakwe is a Kenyan model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Earth 2002, becoming the first black woman and first African to hold the title. Omwakwe is also the first Kenyan woman to hold a major international beauty pageant title. She originally placed as the first runner-up at Miss Earth, but ascended to the throne when the original winner Džejla Glavović was dethroned for failing to fulfill her duties.

Džejla Glavović is a Bosnian fashion model and beauty queen. She was crowned in the Philippines as the second Miss Earth representing her country Bosnia and Herzegovina and became the first Bosnian woman to win a major international title in beauty contest.

Miss Earth 2001 is the first Miss Earth pageant, held at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines on 28 October 2001.

Miss Earth 2003, the 3rd edition of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on November 9, 2003, at the University of the Philippines Theater in Quezon City, Philippines. Fifty-seven delegates from all over the globe participated in the event. The pageant was broadcast live via ABS-CBN in the Philippines and to many countries worldwide via Star World, The Filipino Channel and other partner networks. Winfred Omwakwe from Kenya crowned her successor Dania Prince of Honduras the end of the event. Brazil's Pricila Zandona was selected Miss Air 2003, Costa Rica's Marianela Zeledon Bolanos was chosen Miss Water 2003, and Poland's Marta Matyjasik was Miss Fire 2003. The pageant was hosted by Television show host Ariel Ureta. The candidates were initially presented at the poolside of Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati on October 22, 2003.

Lorraine Esperidion Schuck is a Filipina beauty pageant titleholder who won Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia 1979 and represented the Philippines at the 1979 Miss Asia Quest. She is one of the founders of, and is Executive Vice-President of, Carousel Productions, which runs the international beauty pageant Miss Earth and Miss Philippines Earth.
