Miss Earth Puerto Rico (previously called Miss Puerto Rico) is a national Beauty pageant in Puerto Rico.

History

The Miss Puerto Rico Universe organization sent representatives to Miss Earth between 20012004. From 2005 to 2013 Puerto Rico's representative to Miss Earth was selected through the Miss Puerto Rico Earth pageant. [1] Puerto Rico did not compete in 2007–2008, 2013 and 2015–2016. Nellys Pimentel made history becoming the first Puerto Rican to win Miss Earth in 2019.

The 54th Annual Miss Puerto Rico Universe pageant was held at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum on October 22, 2008, in Hato Rey section of San Juan, Puerto Rico. A record of 70 contestants competed for the crown, in which the competition was televised live by WAPA-TV. On October 11, 2008, the show entered its final stage when twelve finalists elected by the public remained.

Mister Puerto Rico is the common name or sash used to identify a Puerto Rican representative in an international male beauty pageant. Several organizations have held annual male pageants in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Currently, Mister Puerto Rico Model and Mister Puerto Rico Teenager are the most important male beauty pageant event. Each year both events are held to select the representatives from the island.

Shanira Blanco Colón is a Puerto Rican TV presenter and model, social media influencer and former national director of Miss Mundo de Puerto Rico and Miss Earth Puerto Rico.

Irma Nydia Vázquez was Puerto Rico's representative to the 1948 Miss America pageant. Although Malen Pietrantoni started Puerto Rico's annual participation in the event in 1937 as Miss Puerto Rico, and Zulma Caballero Lopez participated in 1938, Vázquez is nonetheless generally credited with being the first Puerto Rican contestant in the event, which required all contestants to sign a contract, which then required that "contestant must be in good health and of the white race."

Nadyalee Torres López is a Puerto Rican model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss World Puerto Rico 2013. she represented Puerto Rico at Miss World 2013 but unplaced.

Lynda Morales is a Puerto Rican indoor volleyball player who plays for Criollas de Caguas in the Liga de Voleibol Superior Femenino (LVSF). She was a member of the Puerto Rican national team from 2011 to 2016. She participated in the 2016 Summer Olympics and the 2014 FIVB World Championship.

Ana Irma Rivera Lassén is an Afro-Puerto Rican attorney who is a current Member of the Puerto Rican Senate, elected on November 3, 2020, and who previously served as the head of the Bar Association of Puerto Rico from 2012–2014. She was the first black woman, and third female, to head the organization. She is a feminist and human rights activist, who is also openly lesbian. She has received many awards and honors for her work in the area of women's rights and human rights, including the Capetillo-Roqué Medal from the Puerto Rican Senate, the Martin Luther King/Arturo Alfonso Schomburg Prize, and the Nilita Vientós Gastón Medal. She is a practicing attorney and serves on the faculty of several universities in Puerto Rico; she currently serves on the Advisory Committee on Access to Justice of the Puerto Rican Judicial Branch.

Nellys Rocio Pimentel Campusano is a Puerto Rican model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Earth 2019. She became the first-ever Puerto Rican and Caribbean woman to win Miss Earth.

Madison Sara Anderson Berríos is a Puerto Rican-American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2019. She represented Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2019 competition where she finished as the 1st Runner-Up. In 2023 she was the winner of the season 3 of La Casa de los Famosos.

Jorge Díaz Reverón is a Puerto Rican judge. He was the first First Gentleman of Puerto Rico and husband of Wanda Vázquez Garced. At the time, Díaz Reverón was a superior court judge in Caguas.

The 2024 Puerto Rico gubernatorial election will be held on November 5, 2024, to elect the governor of Puerto Rico, concurrently with the election of the Resident Commissioner, the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the mayors of the 78 municipalities. Incumbent New Progressive Party Governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia is running for re-election to a second term in office.

His New Progressive Party (PNP) not having a majority in either chamber of the 19th Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico meant that he would have to further negotiate the approval of his nominees with the opposition parties that hold control of the legislature.

Ashley Ann Cariño Barreto is a Puerto Rican-American model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022. She represented Puerto Rico at Miss Universe 2022, and is the second Afro-Puerto Rican to win the title, placing at the Top 5. Previously, Cariño was crowned Miss Florida USA 2021 and placed as the second runner-up at Miss USA 2021.

Miss Earth Puerto Rico 2023 is the 19th edition of Miss Earth Puerto Rico that was held on January 29, 2023. Paulina Avilés-Feshold of Carolina crowned Victoria Arocho of Caguas as her successor at the end of the event. She will represent Puerto Rico at Miss Earth 2023 in Vietnam.

Miss Grand Puerto Rico is a national title bestowed upon a woman chosen to represent Puerto Rico at Miss Grand International, an annual international beauty pageant promoting peace and opposing all forms of conflict. The national pageant of Miss Grand International for Puerto Rico is currently conducted by Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico, Inc., to which MGI PLC, the owner of Miss Grand International, awarded the franchise in 2016. One of the winners of the "Nuestra Belleza Puerto Rico" pageant gets the title of Miss Grand Puerto Rico.

<i>Puerto Rico ¡Gana!</i> Puerto Rican game show

Puerto Rico ¡Gana! is a Puerto Rican game show that airs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and, Sundays at 6:00 p.m. on Telemundo Puerto Rico. The show is hosted by Alexis Colón who is known as Alex DJ and by Jeananthony Medina.
