The Montana Mountains are a mountain range in Humboldt County, Nevada. [1] The mining company Lithium Americas Corporation is building a mine at Thacker Pass, [2] which is between the Double H Mountains and the Montana Mountains. [3]

Montana is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. It is bordered by Idaho to the west; North Dakota and South Dakota to the east; Wyoming to the south; and by the Canadian provinces of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan to the north. Humboldt River River drainage system in north-central Nevada, United States

The Humboldt River is an extensive river drainage system located in north-central Nevada. It extends in a general east-to-west direction from its headwaters in the Jarbidge, Independence, and Ruby Mountains in Elko County, to its terminus in the Humboldt Sink, approximately 225 miles away in northwest Churchill County. Most estimates put the Humboldt River at 290 miles (470 km) long however, due to the extensive meandering nature of the river, its length is more closely estimated at 380 miles (612 km). It is located within the Great Basin Watershed and is the third longest river in the watershed behind the Bear River at 355 miles (570 km) and the Sevier River at 325 miles (523 km). The Humboldt River Basin is the largest sub-basin of the Great Basin encompassing an area of 16,840 square miles (43,615 km2). It is the only major river system wholly contained within the state of Nevada.

Camp Grant, California

Camp Grant is a ghost town in Humboldt County located on the South Fork Eel River 2 miles (3.2 km) northeast of Weott and 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Dyerville. It was originally settled by Northern Sinkyone people, followed by a Union Army camp and later a logging and railroad support settlement for the construction of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad.

Thacker Pass Lithium Mine Proposed mining of hectorite clay deposit in Nevada

The Thacker Pass Lithium Mine is a proposed lithium clay mining development project in Humboldt County, Nevada. The project is 21 miles (34 km) west-northwest of Orovada, Nevada within the McDermitt Caldera, and overlaps with 2,866 acres (1,160 ha) of big sagebrush habitat, as well as golden eagle breeding sites.

The McDermitt Caldera is a large, oval-shaped caldera west of McDermitt in southeastern Oregon and northern Nevada in the United States. It is about 28 miles (45 km) long north–south and 22 miles (35 km) wide east–west. The western part of the caldera is in the Trout Creek Mountains, and the northern part is in the Oregon Canyon Mountains. The highest point of the McDermitt Caldera is Jordan Meadow Mountain at 6,816 feet (2,078 m), which is part of the Montana Mountains of Humboldt County, Nevada.

<i>Murder Mountain</i> (TV series) American true crime docu-series on Netflix

Murder Mountain, originally marketed as 'Murder Mountain: Welcome to Humboldt County,' is an American true crime documentary television series that premiered on Fusion TV on September 23, 2018. Netflix picked up the series and it premiered on the platform on December 28, 2018. The show covers an area of Northern California's Humboldt County, including the local marijuana industry, and multiple disappearances and murders that have occurred in the surrounding mountain range. Much of the show follows the case of 29-year-old Garret Rodriguez, a cannabis grower who was found murdered in the region in 2013.
