2020 Sri Lankan parliamentary election 2020 parliamentary election in Sri Lanka

Parliamentary elections in Sri Lanka were held on 5 August 2020 to elect 225 members to Sri Lanka's 16th Parliament. 16,263,885 people were eligible to vote in the election, 31.95% of whom were young voters.

2019 Sri Lankan presidential election Election

The 2019 Sri Lankan presidential election was the 8th presidential election, which was held on 16 November 2019. The incumbent President Maithripala Sirisena's term of office would have ended on 9 January 2020. This was the first Presidential election in Sri Lanka where no sitting president, prime minister or opposition leader was contesting for president. Gotabaya Rajapaksha won this election.

Mohamed Uvais Mohamed Ali Sabry, PC, MP is a Sri Lankan lawyer and politician. He is the current Minister of Justice and Member of Parliament, appointed from the national list of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
