Sri Lankabhimanya Karu Jayasuriya is a Sri Lankan politician. He was the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka. Previously he was Mayor of Colombo from 1997 to 1999,Minister of Power and Energy from 2001 to 2004,Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs from 2007 to 2008,and Minister of Buddha Sasana,Public Administration,and Democratic Governance in 2015. He has served as Chairman of the Leadership Council of the United National Party (UNP),as well as Deputy Leader of the UNP. He is a member of parliament representing the Gampaha District since 2001. He had served as Sri Lanka's Ambassador to (Germany). As Speaker of Parliament,he also acts as Chairman of the Constitutional Council.
Dedduwa Jayathungalage "D.J." Siripala,also known by the pseudonym Maru Sira,was a Sri Lankan young criminal and bandit active from the late 1960s until the mid 1970s. He was on death row following a conviction for a serial murder. His controversial execution (hanging) led to many debates by creating the popular question "kill by hanging or hang after killing". Siripala achieved fame through several prison escapes while his romance with Ranmanika made his story memorable.

Shirani Bandaranayake,the 43rd Chief Justice of Sri Lanka,was impeached by Parliament and then removed from office by President Mahinda Rajapaksa in January 2013. Bandaranayake was accused of a number of charges including financial impropriety and interfering in legal cases,all of which she has denied. The impeachment followed a series of rulings against the government by the Supreme Court,including one against a bill proposed by Minister Basil Rajapaksa,President Rajapaksa's brother. Bandaranayake was replaced as chief justice by former Attorney General Mohan Peiris. Peiris is considered to be an ally of President Rajapaksa and his appointment is seen by critics as further consolidation of power by the president and his family. Bandaranayake refused to recognise the impeachment and lawyers groups refused to work with the new chief justice. Bandaranayake's controversial impeachment drew much criticism and concern from within and outside of Sri Lanka. On 28 January 2015 she was reinstated and retired on 29 January,the next day.

It stars Somy Rathnayake,Pubudu Chathuranga and Dulani Anuradha in lead roles along with Geetha Kanthi Jayakody and Bimal Jayakody. The score has been done by Dinesh Subasinghe. It is the 1200th Sri Lankan film in the Sinhala cinema.
