Muthathi (or Muttatti) is a settlement situated on the banks of the Kaveri river near Malavalli in the Indian state of Karnataka. [1] It is surrounded by a dense forest which is the home of the Kaveri Wildlife Sanctuary. The location has mythological associations with Sita (the wife of Rama) and Anjaneya (a Hindu deity/god), and there is a small temple dedicated to Anjaneya near the town. This well connected hilly place is accessible from Bangalore through direct bus/private vehicles. Kannada matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar was named Muthuraja after the temple deity of this place - Muthathiraya (Hanuman). [2]

Ranganatha, also known as Ranganathar, Rangan, Aranganathar, SriRanga, and Thenarangathan, is a Hindu deity with his origin in South India, serving as the chief deity of the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, Srirangam. The deity is a resting form of Vishnu, recumbent on the great form of the serpent demigod Adisesha, the king of the serpents. His primary consort is the Goddess Lakshmi, also known as Ranganayaki. His two other consorts seen next to his recumbent figure are Bhudevi and Nila Devi. Most of the deities portray a 'smiling' lord in a sleeping or reclining position over the celestial serpent Adisesha in the sea of cosmic dissolution (pralaya). This is the form in which he is open to listening to all of his devotees' woes, and blesses them. Apart from being worshipped by all Hindus, this form is of particular importance to the Sri Vaishnava community. His name in Sanskrit means "leader of the place of assembly", coined from the two Sanskrit words ranga (place) and natha.

Ragigudda Anjaneya Temple

The Ragigudda Sri Prasanna Anjaneya temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, spread across 5 acres also having a hillock in Jayanagar 9th Block suburb of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The temple also houses a Shivalinga along with Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman shrine in the same precinct. The temple is on a hillock.
