Nagram is a town in Lucknow district, Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located between the two roads from Lucknow to Sultanpur and Raebareli.It was founded and named after Nalgram Raja,a Pasi king.

Geography

Nagram is located at 26°37′N81°08′E / 26.62°N 81.13°E / 26.62; 81.13 . [1] It has an average elevation of 118 m (387 ft). It is situated 37 km from Lucknow, the state capital of Uttar Pradesh.

Climate

Nagram has a humid subtropical climate with cool, dry winters from mid-November to February and dry, hot summers with sunshine from March to mid-May and thunderstorms from late March to June. More than nine-tenths of the annual rainfall occurs from June to October when the city receives an average of 827.2 mm (32.57 in) from the southwest monsoon winds, although occasionally frontal rainfall from the northeast monsoon will occur in January. In winter, the maximum temperature is around 25 °C (77 °F) and the minimum is around 3–7 °C (37–45 °F). Fog is quite common from mid-December to mid February.

In the unusual winter cold spell of 2012–13, Nagram recorded temperatures below freezing on two consecutive days and the minimum temperature hovered around freezing point for over a week. Summers are very hot with temperatures rising into the 42 °C (104 °F) to 45 °C (113 °F) range, the average highs being in the high of 30s (degree Celsius).[ citation needed ]

History

Nagram has two old buildings called Imambargahs, which are of archaeological importance: Imambargah Wajahat Hussain (popularly known as Syed-wada), located in the center of Nagram, and Imambargah Mir Fida Hussain, which displays elements of Persian architecture. Anjuman-e-Abbasiya [2] is the oldest and existing anjuman of Nagram.[ citation needed ]

The town culture originated in the Awadh region. Many people migrated from town after the Partition of India. Low cast People from Nagram usually used "Nagrami" as the title name.To show public that we belong from well known family [ citation needed ]

Economy

As of 1971, the economy of Nagram was dominated by primary activities. The main items imported were cloth, sugar, and cotton. The main items manufactured were shoes, handloom cloth, and beedies. The biggest exports were grains, vegetables, and tobacco.

The nearest railway station to Nagram is on the Indian Railways network in Nigoha. The bus station is at Lucknow–Raebareli road. The nearest international airport is Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport, 36.1 km (22.4 mi) away.

Nagram has an average literacy rate of 43%, lower than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 53%, and female literacy is 33%. In Nagram, 17% of the population is under 6 years of age.

It is located on the north bank of the Sai river, at the crossroads between the road from Salon to Jais and the smaller road from Raebareli to Ateha. Historically noted for its large weaving industry, Parsadepur served as the headquarters of a pargana since the late 18th century. As of 2011, its population is 11,853 people, in 1,738 households.

The climate of Uttar Pradesh is a tropical monsoon climate, consisting mainly of a humid subtropical climate with dry winter (Cwa). Parts of western Uttar Pradesh consist of a hot semi-arid climate (BSh). The uniformity of the vast Indo-Gangetic Plain covering most of the state causes it to have a predominantly single climate pattern with minor regional variations.

Inhauna is a village and corresponding in Singhpur block of Rae Bareli district, Uttar Pradesh, India. As of 2011, its population is 13,049, in 2,021 households. Located at the junction of the Raebareli-Rudauli and Lucknow-Jaunpur roads, Inhauna is an old town that once served as the seat of a pargana as well as (briefly) a tehsil, and it has the ruins of an old fort built under the Nawabs of Awadh. The old marketplace, known as Ratanganj, was built in 1863 by the tahsildar Ratan Narain. Markets are held twice per week, on Mondays and Thursdays, and most of the trade is in livestock.

The village hosts two annual festivals: one is the Badhwapur-ka-Mela, which is dedicated to the worship of Nag Devta and is held on Bhadra Sudi 5, and the other is the Jhurhapur-ka-Mela, which is dedicated to worship of Rama and falls on Phalguna Sudi 8.

Bhitargaon is a village in Khiron block of Rae Bareli district, Uttar Pradesh, India. Located some 14 km from Lalganj, the tehsil headquarters, Bhitargaon consists of several hamlets clustered together by the main Raebareli-Unnao road. As of 2011, it has a population of 10,841 people, in 1,976 households. The village has a temple to Anandi Devi. A mela called the Anandi-ka-Mela is also held in her honour annually on Chaitra Badi 8 and Jyaistha Sudi 2. The Anandiganj bazar in Bhitargaon hosts markets twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Fridays. The main trade is in cloth and vegetables.

To the northwest of the village is a large lake called the Bara Tal.
